A challenge to you creative people

It's been a while since posting here but I wanted to issue a challenge to you guys who know how to fab everything. In my ongoing effort to get out of work I'm trying to think of a way to convert a couple of big shipping pallets (from Kubota btw) into large manure containers. I want to be able...

    A cheaper dump trailer

Has anybody bought or seen one of these trailers in action? They're alot cheaper than the heavier duty ones I've seen. Would they hold up for just around the farm use like hauling manure?

    Dump trailer update

    Platinum in only 18 months

I thought this was funny in contrast to some folks who reach platinum in a matter of days. I wanted to thank everyone who has offered their advice on all kinds of things from what kind of chainsaw to buy, the value of the FEL, electrical circuits, building an arena and all kinds of practical...

    Gas disposal

What's the best way to get rid of a gallon or so of old gas mixed with oil? All the recommendations for 2 cycle engines say to dispose of old gas/oil mixtures and use new but they don't say where to put the old stuff. What do you guys do?

What to look for in a used truck

Since I took 11 months to buy a new chainsaw (and I appreciate everyone's advice on that) I plan on taking at least the same amount of time to look for a good used pickup. Just slow, I guess. I'm thinking about a Ford F250 or F350 diesel for pulling a horse trailer, farm chores and so on...

    Another septic system question

When our septic system was installed they didn't do a very good job of grading over the laterals. It's rough as a cob to mow over. Is there any harm in smoothing this out with my boxblade, then harrowing and reseeding the bare spots?

    Removing the FEL

I remember seeing something similar to this in a different post but can't find it in Search. I haven't taken off my loader in >50 hours of use and would like to try it. Reading the manual makes it sound like you have to turn off the tractor several times too many. Any tricks or other things I...

    Requiem for a dog

We just lost our 6 year old charcoal gray German Shepard when he was hit and killed by a car. His name was Gunner and he was a gentle soul. Of course the car didn't stop but a nice thing did happen. One of our neighbors is a vet tech and went out and tried to help him even knowing there...

Finish mower ? now that winter's here

Finish mower ? now that winter\'s here When I sold my old tractor several months ago I also sold the KK 6' finish mower I had. The mower worked pretty well but I got tired of that funky hitch. I'm thinking I might be able to get a deal on a mower sitting on a dealer's lot now that winter is...

    Summary of fence pulling techniques

Here's what I could find on TBN on how to pull up fence posts including my own technique. If anyone has additional ideas please share. 1 Wrap a chain around the post then over an old tractor rim and pull with the tractor. 2 Wrap a chain around the post and over the lip of a handyman jack and...

    Pulling posts

Tonight I had the pleasure of pulling a dozen 4X4 posts out of the ground with my L3410 after work. I could have pulled another dozen but I didn't have my helper to chain up the posts. These were 8 footers with at least 2 bags of concrete around them. I can't believe I waited so long to get...

    Pride of ownership

My new tractor is here and it's fantastic! I have a rotary mower coming in this week and I'm getting a box blade so I can do heavier work with the loader. So far it's been great moving manure around. I can't tell you how nice it is to get on the tractor and not have to worry it won't start.

    Still another box blade question

Can anyone tell me why I should consider a Bush Hog or Land Pride box blade over the King Kutter version. The Bush Hog outweighs the KK and LP by only 50 pounds but costs $300 more. Is the price justified?

    Who makes a decent chainsaw?

Just asking for your opinion. I've got a 25 yo Stihl with a small bar maybe 12" that runs great despite years of neglect. I'd like to get something bigger and wondered what your experience with other brands is. I'm partial to Stihl because I've also got a Stihl trimmer and it's bulletproof...

    Question about the Grand L's

Question about the Grand L\'s Actually two questions: Which of the Grand L's can comfortably pull a 6' rotary mower for pasture grass and weeds mown every 3-4 weeks? I won't be cutting saplings or brush, just grass and weeds. Can the HST model of this tractor with loader be had for under...

    Maneuverability of B series

I'm very much interested in the Kubota B series tractor and I have a question for B series owners. Stupid human tricks April edition

    More horsepower, really worth it?
