Does the valve stay in the float position or do you need to force the lever and hold it in the forward position to maintain float? Mine will not stay in the float position unless I hold it there.

I have the same problem. I have 40 hours on the tractor so I will send it back to the dealer in 10 hours to have them look at it.

Are you using a mallet for the pto? I believe the original question was: use a plastic mallet to force the bar into position in the fulcrum area. My alignment comment was addressing this issue.

That's a good idea. I always use the loader to lift the front end, but never thought of leaving the bh on to raise the rear. As far as the mallet is concern, I still believe if everything is aligned properly by the dealer and you have the MMM center properly during the re-install, it should go...

The MMM shouldn't required a mallet to install. Something isn't aligned or adjusted properly. I'd take it back to the dealer and have them set it up again. I'd also question a dealer that tells you that a mallet may be required. Sounds like a dealer that doesn't know what they are doing.

Haven't looked at how it is made, though it must be some type of a cam, for the knob should turn in either direction for an unlimited amount of turns.

I have the 60" MMM on my BX and I have not experience any wearing of the belt. My BX is about 4 months old. Hopefully your dealer will get this fixed with the new parts they ordered.

Have you removed the rear attachment? I would suggest removing the rear attachement. Then move the MMM to the up position and try rotating the knob to 'top'. Your rear attachment may not be allowing the MMM to raise to the top position. The knob can not be moved unless it is in the upper...

The Operator's Manual for my BX23 recommends changing the transmission fluid, oil and strainer at 300. 200 is only the Engine Oil, not the transmission oil. BUT, I guess it wouldn't hurt to change it more frequently.

I believe you are correct regarding the possibility of having to move up to the 18hp engine, though I believe I saw some information on the web that indicated a 60" MMM could be used. It would be worth looking into this if he is serious about wanting a 60" deck.

Speaking of Hydro hoses, could they have made these any shorter???? If you have the hoe on the ground, you nearly need to be ontop of the hoe to get them hooked up. I think the instructions said to be about 12" from the hoe. There hoe must not have been sitting on the ground!

Well I popped off the quick release and tightened the two lower connections that were loose on the controller console, though the leak is still there. With 11 hours on tractor, I think I will leave this for the dealer to repair unless you have any other suggestions.

Teflon tape is what I was thinking of using too. I tend to use it on anything with threads.

I just clicked over 10 hours on my new BX23 and I noticed hydraulic fluid leaking from one of the hoses leading to the FEL. Can anyone give me a little guidance on how to determine which of the three lines is leaking and also how to stop the leak? I have not taken any of the hydraulic hoses...
