    LT 1500 rider engine

I blew up the engine on my Craftsmen Riding mower. Its the 420cc MTD motor. I need to know if this has a horizontal or verticle shaft engine. The mower is in Alabama, and Im in Georgia, so I cant just look. Im hoping a 17 hp horizontal shaft I already have will fit. Thanks.
