Double check your water pump while you have it apart. Some models of water pumps could leak internally into crankcase before showing anything external. This would lead to scored bearings from lack of lubrication. I do not recall which Kawi models or Deere models had this design.

I have used an air chisel with drift punch bit to loosen those caps. It might elongate the hole but is far gentler on the knuckles. Stubborn ones may air chisel and strap wrench or pipe wrench to hold some torque while letting the vibration work it loose.

Cycle the cylinder full stroke a couple of times when empty should help remove any air.

Is the leak between sections or around the ends of the spools? If between sections then yes there would be several seals between each section. If around end of spools would also suspect an O-ring but should not have to dismantle the valve.

Item #1 appears to be the shaft so it is also a suspect as a point of leakage. Since this motor does not appear to have a case drain there must also be some form of high pressure seals to prevent high pressure oil getting to item #1 unless that is not a conventional lip type shaft seal.

Most hydraulic valves are metal to metal seal so there are no O-rings to replace to prevent cylinder from drifting.

Page 70-30 -2 shows item H as implement pump to rock shaft valve supply so if my interpretation is correct line H would be connected to power beyond line from FEL to rock shaft valve which is 3 point hitch. This is based on that diagram on page 70-30-2 not including an FEL valve.

Contamination from Teflon Tape problems are frequently when a fitting is removed and the pieces of old tape are then free to fall into the port or are pushed in when new fitting is installed. Careful cleaning is required before reassembly. Same cleaning is required with loctite and other sealants.

Deere 345 has several interlocks on both the start and ignition circuits. The service manual does a pretty good job of explaining diagnostic procedure for each circuit.

I would not go much over 5 PSI and have used exhaust from shop vac for this purpose. Go to high and you start to damage seals, potentially crack a casting due to large surface area the pressure is acting on, etc.

I do not know what the pressure should be but 1,500 PSI seems low. Pressure dropping down to 1,100 PSI does not sound correct either. Can you move the gauge to the loader circuit to see what pressures are there?

You should be good moving your mower under the conditions you describe. Like you state go slow and shortest distance possible if drive wheels are turning.

Do any other hydraulic functions work like power steering or 3 point? Relief valves rarely fail from sitting.

With out a separate dedicated pump to run the mower vs loader the mower may slow down everytime you use the loader. Does your tractor have enough flow to run the mower?

Would Dry graphite work its way down and not react to the plastic?

Possible got hot that quick. Most tube assemblies that I have seen are stainless so should be limited rust but not sure what material is on that WR long valve.

Based on your description I also would suspect a problem with return flow path. Can you run a line temporarily from the motor direct to tank just to see if it turns? If yes then you know problem is some where in the return flow path. Why did the shaft break?

Sounds like either the coil melted to the tube or excess pressure inside the tube caused it to swell. If either one of these happened it can be real challenging to get the coils off.

If squealing under no load sounds like pump is failing. Could be charge pump or main section but either way It will contaminate the motor if you try to use it that way.

You can isolate the cylinder from the valve If you have the equipment or means to safely support that load while you remove and cap or plug the rod end hose and then let the load sit on the retracted cylinder. If cylinder extends now you know it is the cylinder seals. If cylinder does not move...

If you keep rolling radius the same or very similar tractor won’t care what style tires you use.

Like has been discussed before, there is a place for electric but it isn’t every place. Same with gas, diesel, etc.

Jeff Can you analyze how the oil is supposed to flow thru that valve to determine if the spool is not positioned correctly. I realize easy to be armchair mechanic vs having parts in hand but a single sliding spool should not be this difficult.

Since just that function I would look closely at that particular valve spool and linkage assembly to confirm nothing is loose or something jammed limiting spool travel. Do you have access to a schematic for that back hoe valve? If yes that could provide some insight on other things to consider.

Is that the only function acting strange? Dropping before raising sounds like a load check leaking but that should not prevent lifting fully.

Jeff Can you operate the 3 point with the lift cover off? If yes can you tell or see where the oil is flowing with no command to raise? Does the flow stop out that point when command is given to raise? Just trying to determine where flow is going when give command to raise the 3 point.

Sounds like the pump is cavitating or sucking air like winston stated. Could be collapsed line, loose fitting, etc.

When I farmed in central minnesota we used a 50/50 mix of #2 & #1 diesel in the chore tractor that was run a few times a week. Never had fuel gelling problems but I do believe quality of fuel is lower today than it was 40 - 50 years ago. We had 1,000 gallon tank for #2 diesel and 250 gallon for #1.

Did Summit supply a schematic for the valve assembly. Does the Summit valve have two or three line that need to be connected back to the tractor? If can you post that so we know what type of valve package you have. The WR Long valve is designed to have pressure on the tank port others are not.
