Just about everyone said go buy a SCUT if you are laser focused on that ... It just isn't the best choice for the tasks identified. Heck, I'd like to have a SCUT to add to my stable. It would just see limited action.

You do get that JWR owns and has experience with Kubota B an BX series tractors? That gives him a very unique and grounded insight. HE HAS EXPERIENCE WITH A BX as well as with a slightly larger model. You might want to reread his thread above If after that, you feel you have nothing to...

Side mounted fire starter. Red Hot exhaust

I had a Bobcat skidsteer with a Ford Industrial gas engine. Unknown to me the vacuum advance hose pulled off and the timing was retarded. It ran fine, but the muffler was red hot and it scared the crap out of me. Reattached the hose and problem solved. I would never have imagined it would...

Here's the email I sent to Bad Boy. We'll see what they say. ****************************************************************************** Hello, your catalog shows the 4035 as having a 3 rage hydrostatic transmission, and your specifications drop down for the 4035H shows a 2 range hydrostatic...

    Bad boy compact tractors?

The CATALOG shows the 4035 with a 3 speed hydro, how ever if you select the 4035 specifications, it shows a 2 speed hydro. I'd bet that it is a 3 speed hydro. I'm always amazed at how prone corporate websites are to inaccuracies.

Btarb24, you just heard from someone who owns a BX, that the BX is really too small for your needs. Your money, your call, but you can't say you weren't informed. For scale, here is a garden tractor that has about the same size rear tires as a BX.

Thery'll be no changing yout mind. Spend $$$$$ buying your SCUT with its tiny tires. A SCUT is better than no tractor at all, but it is not optimal for what you will be doing. Have fun spinning your wheels.

Min tractor size for repairing long gravel driveway with potholes?

Those small rear tires on a BX are going to have far less traction than any larger tractor (even a B series Kiubota). A B series Kubota will be just as nimble in the woods and more stable. I'm not saying a BX won't get the job done one way or another, but the day will come when you will wish...

From my 15hp Shibaura to my 40hp New Holland - they all sip fuel. You will likely spend more on gas for your riding mowers. If the OP is using fuel usage as an argument for buying a small tractor, he seems determined to buy a small tractor no matter what anyone says. It will make a great first...

    New Holland battery replacement

The online New Holland Parts lists a BCI Group 34 but I think the polarity would be a BCI Group 34R. A 24F ibattery s the same dimensions, just 1 1/8" taller.

The battery group 24F is about 1/4" wider. I am guessing it would fit. The Farm and Fleet battery I pictured is $110 and 725 cold cranking amps.
