Fergie's in ICU

I normally run mine in the green zone too if needing the slightly more power or speed. . .

If I remember right you have the 23 HP version, I have the 25 HP version ... The only difference I believe in the engine is the fuel supply screw adjustment is set less than mine, and you have a different tachometer ...

Mine looks like this ...

So if I can run mine to 3100 RPM regularly, I don't see how even if you could get yours that high, that it would cause a problem like you have, not saying you have even tried to push the RPM's just that these little engines are designed for much more than they are setup for .

Maybe, but the early GC2300s with the Iseki 3cyl did not have a tachometer. Snowblowing or chipping, 20 years of wide open throttle, no issues.

Tach or not, it should be governed and incapable of over-revving except in some fault condition.

My point was they seem to be the same engine, adjusted differently ... From the sales brochure ...

But looking at the owners manual, it seems to have a slightly different number ...

But in the service manual under the engine category, it makes no distinction about them being different ... ?

Looks like someone forgot to tighten a rod bolt/nut. At less than 600 hours that’s what I’d suspect, or else one of them just wasn’t there from the get go. I’d be curious to know if one of them is missing from the pile of evidence.
