Kubota L4760 with Sbp1684 snowblower??

What is an impeller kit and what does that do? What type of material are you talking about. Are there any examples of people doing these mods to the impeller housing etc?

Or buy a blower that has tight impeller clearances to begin with, Maybe check before you pay. My WIFO's 27"X 10" Impeller is very close to the housing. That makes for more efficient snow throwing as does the large diameter fan for an 84-87" width blower.

I also have an older Schulte and yeah it could benefit from an impellor/fan blade kit because the Impeller blades are not tight to the housing.

My LuckNow blower also has very close OEM tolerances around a 4 blade fan, and a large slowly curved 12" diameter chute.

Shopping around will not help you much as a dealer is only interested
in your wallet.

If you find a dealer that is willing to lose a sale but not a customer all
the better for you but you have to look at them as car dealers.
They all pay the same price, the only difference is the freight cost to
their location.

If you have a salesperson that is interested in you he or she will look
at your needs and your property and will be familiar with the amount
of snow the area receives and he or she will be honest with you and tell
you that your making a mistake with that implement.

You will be traveling at least one mile every time you clear snow
if you are clearing the road don't forget that.

A lot of people put impeller kits on their walk behind snow blowers
to get rid of the heavy snow ands ice caused by the use of road salt.
There are plenty of videos of them on youtube.

What you MUST understand is that that pull behind snow blower
will not be the be all end all snow blower you expect to be because
it will bog down in heavy snow and your dealer is doing you no favors
trying to get you to buy one.

Did they tell you to get your rear tires loaded with liquid ballast and to
invest in a set of rear snow chains? I bet they did not.

DID THEY bother to tell you that you will be spending a great deal of time
driving back and forth to keep your private road clear. I bet that they did not.

Do you have a swivel seat in your mule? If not can one be added?

As you have a hydro mule you could sit sideways in your seat and travel in reverse
to clear snow using a Pronovost TRC snow blower. The TRC snow blower has the
rotating impeller drum that allows you to cast heavy snow to the left or right
with less power as there is no chute to increase friction.

You have to have adhesion/weight to create traction to clear heavy snow and snow
chains will only help you.

The impeller kit for a 2 stage snow blower eliminates the gap
between the impeller paddles end edge and the inside diameter
of the impeller housing.

The impeller kit consists of 3 or 4 thick rubber paddles that are usually
thick pieces of conveyor belting cut to length to match the width of the
individual impeller paddle.

The rubber conveyor belting is held in place with 2 pieces of sheet metal
that are drilled to accept the bolts and nuts that hold the paddle in place.

The bolts are fine threaded bolts that have washers and fine threaded
nylock nuts to hold them in place. the nylock nuts and bolts have more
gripping power because of the fine threads.

The impeller paddles have to have holes drill in them to match the
3-4 holes in the sheet metal that holds the rubber paddle.

The impeller kits were developed for the small walk behinds 2 stage
snow blowers to begin with and their use has grown to having kits for
snow blowers mounted on tractors.

The rubber conveyor paddles scrub the impeller drum free of snow and
ice to prevent it from freezing solid.

The pronovost pxpl snow blower has the flexibility to clear snow while
driving forward as well as driving in reverse.
You can add lots of bells and whistles to a Pronovost PXPL or TRC 2
stage snow blower to make either one more efficient and easier to use
but the TRC model with the rotating impeller drum will be the best overall
unit if you have heavy snows.


Please find a Pronovost dealer and talk to them before you even think about
writing a check.

How was the private road cleared of snow and ice before this??

They have a plow truck. But they do it soo infrequently that the road turns to a mess and ends up being soo narrow only one way traffic can use it. The gentleman that does it is also quite old and unable to do it as often as needed it seems. I also have quite a bit of driveway off the road, a turnaround and the road to access my pole barn My wife works nights at the hospital on call and needs to be able to get out. The road has been pretty sketchy in that regard for her.



Have you ever cleared snow with a snow blower before??

Yes I have. However it was a garden mower with one of those snowblower setups on the front. It worked well for what it was but limited horsepower and weight was a problem. I’ve also used push behind snowblowers. The whole area I’ll be blowing is very flat



What are your neighbors using to clear snow??

Plow truck or atv.



Do you know how much work is involved??

I used to use my garden tractor to clear my old place. Turnaround and about 700ft of driveway. It’s work for sure. Before work ad. When I get home.



Are your neighbors going to help you by paying you to clear snow???

That’s part of the plan. However simply ensuring the road is clear for my wife without having to wait on people is the foremost goal.

None. It’s our road and the snow is getting blown into an empty field that runs along the road. There’s plenty of places to blow the snow that are open. Some of the areas are harder to plow because of fences but I figure blowing the snow I can toss it over the fences into the fields.

Liability Insurance for your tractor can be added to many homeowner/farm policys. It will protect you if anything were to happen such as getting rear ended by a car or a rock or ice chunk hitting a car.

Hey all,
I have a Grand L4760 cab hst
I was looking for a snowblower and the sales guys at multiple dealerships are recommending the sbp1684.
my tractor is 72+” wide and they state I will appreciate the extra width relative to the tractor. It is nice with the 84” box blade the tractor came with.
I’ll be using it around the neighborhood and on our long driveway and private road. About a half mile or so. It’s all relatively flat. When asked about the horsepower requirements I was told by multiple sales guys that the 4760 will run that blower just fine. Looking at land prides website shows the grand l performance matched for the sbp1664 and the sbp1674 and 84 matched for larger tractors. It says minimum hp 45. My tractor per the sales guys I’ve talked to is 49hp and will do just fine. Will I be disappointed in the performance? Should I have gotten a smaller blower? If so. What are some things I can do to help everything along.

You'll be able to handle it just fine. Best to have a blower that is wider than your tire tracks -- but not a LOT wider. A 6' blower would have you driving up onto the snow in the turns and unless it's perfectly centered.

Don't worry about it. You'll be able to take your time if the snow is deep and enjoy your coffee while you blast it out of the way.

Do you have hydraulic or electric chute rotation so you can keep things pointed downwind??

Now if you can find a SSQA snowplow for the FEL, you'll have the best of both worlds.

I understand. I do have coverage for my tractor that includes liability. It’s rolled I to the loan. Kubota insurance or whatever. It has hydraulic chute rotator and deflector.
