I have a similar unit, One mistake I made is that I didn't build it for a cover-all type shed to fit. Tarps will work but require frequent replacing and here having to have some salt added to prevent it from becoming just one big block it attracts deer, who walk on it and punch holes in the tarp which lets water in which in turn removes the salt. I also used coal ash along with salted sand, alas no more coal ash for me so just sand now. I used to get a tri-axle load every 2-3 years.

something similar to this would be much nicer then a tarp;

Do the blocks get pushed out of place when you load from the bin? I was planning on "backstopping" mine with fill.

They haven't yet, I also have not emptied it since I put it up. It's always had a few feet left to go when I get a new load. I try and get more if under a third full. Mainly because if I were to empty it, it could be very difficult to get a load up in the winter.

Bought 34 of these 4' x 2' x 2' concrete retaining wall blocks for $50 each delivered.

That's just over $3 / cu ft! I couldn't mix the concrete myself for that price, even if I had the form.
A local concrete supplier makes them up from left overs in their delivery trucks.
If I had something like that delivered, it would stay in the same place for eternity. 🤣

Great price!

I had our gravel driveway paved 35 years ago and again 2 years ago. Best thing I ever did. No dust/dirt tracked in house, so easy rolling anything on it. No weeds or buying gravel.

We bought a house in South Jersey last year. There is grass growing UP THROUGH the asphalt (I have not cut and measured but it appears to be 2-3" thick).

I assume that grass alongside is spreading out sideways and poking up. How that works, I have no clue. BUT. I am thinking that edging with an impermeable plastic/metal edgeing will stop that? The opposite side of the drive has some sort of block laid flat, AND metal edging along it, and there is no grass coming up on that side...

I guess this is a bit delayed, but (per How big of a PHD?) I bought a 3PT Post Hole Digger and 18" auger to plant 61 trees.

I was a bit concerned whether my 30HP tractor would handle it, but the South Jersey soil was no match for it. We only ever ran it at an idle and it even cut through some tree roots.
