Good morning!!!!

56 going to 82...feels great outside...local weatherman just said he doesn't think we'll hit 90 again.

Buppies, glad things are better with Holly, and that Precious is settling in...you deserve some rest.

Ken, how's your son liking college so far? First couple of weeks are so exciting.

Ron, sorry your pet store is closing. I hope you find a new one that is just as good.

BEF, glad you got the cell phone fixed and the switch done. You guys have great rates...I'm still on Verizon, but not sure what alternative carrier would have service here. Even Verizon's signal isn't real strong.

Della "demanded" a hike and swim, so took her on an unofficial trail that is a short cut to a new-to-us spot at the river...she got a great swim and I didn't have to hike so far on tired feet from the day before.
I was on Verizon for a great many years, before I switched my phone I installed a sim card in my tablet to verify the ability to use Mint as for a long time Verizon was providing better and more reliable service. After installing the Mint sim in my tablet I used it as a phone for a month or so. Then I also installed a signal strength app on the tablet and my then went for a drive and monitored the signal strengths and the Mint was as good as the Verizon.

btw in case minds smarter than mine were wondering,
I did try putting the boards sideways, didn't work, need more elevation further down
the ramp. Problem is mower deck smashing against lip of floor.
I'm installing sturdy wear strips there today, so whatever wacks into the floor there will hit
something much tougher. I found some steel mending strips just the right size.

Happy enjoy the family there and hope everyone has nice holiday weekend.

Morning all, 57 going to 78 and sunny
Had to go water everything again, been very dry. 32 Gallons plus hose into pool for a bit.
Cleaned more leaves from pool, more Stiltgrass pulled.
And got my first fig!

M7040 - that Bike has no brakes, must have been fun to ride though. I thought my fathers 1950 Thunderbird was a bit archaic, but it did kinda have brakes.
Wngsprd - college hasn't started yet, starts Tuesday. Son has been having a lot of fun hanging out. We just bought some of his books and he has attended some orientation, including one at Radio City Music Hall. Hopefully the party scene plays out a bit so he focuses on school when classes start ....

Time to get out the tractor and new forks and see if I can move some wood bits out of the back area.

Be well,

good morning, low was 58 going to 76 sunny another beautiful day on the farm

Walked Cody and met the usual deer population and smelled the skunk that had visited

There was a slight diesel smell coming from the van so decided to check that out. Sure enough when jacking it up discovered it had accumulated inside a cross member under the engine. Had about 4 or 5 battery operated lights going to try to see where it was coming from. Not obvious but it had to come from somewhere on top of the engine. The way the engines are packaged it is hard to find. Took off the air filter box to peel back a layer and started to check out the many smaller fuel hoses around the fuel filter. Looked to be moist at one one of them and could possibly leak down in front of engine and coat the underside the engine masking the source of the leak. Anyway fixed that hose and looks to be fixed and put it back together

I know that’s what was said in the video, but it clearly has drum brakes, both front and rear, in one view you can even see the linkage to the rear brake pedal.

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 63° heading to a high of 76° cloudy and cool. Maybe some rain later but nothing on the radar.

A busy week at work is in the books. Nephew gifted GG a stomach bug, that's on top of the cold he gave her from last time. Kids, they're walking petri dishes. Dad and I mowed like crazy on Monday + Tuesday mainly because he has some boys coming to go fishing this weekend and didn't want to be bothered. Also because the battery in the ZT is dying and needs replacing, of course just for the last few weeks of mowing season (Who am I kidding, at this rate we'll be mowing through November). Tractor got tapped on Wednesday night for some grapple work. Out front by one of the neighbors, Dad found a patch of mile-a-minute weed growing. Grapple made short work of ripping that out, good timing as it goes to seed here soon.

That seems to be the location all the invasive species thrive, as the mile-a-minute weed was growing on a patch of tree of heaven that was actively being devoured by a swarm of the spotted lanternflies. This fall I need to knock down the tree of heaven to allow the locust trees there a better foothold and then they'll keep the tree of heaven in line.

Interesting thing to note: one of the larger tree of heaven had been killed by the spotted lanternflies munching on the root stock, I guess in self defense the tree tried to make itself more toxic, everything around the now dead tree was black.

I found the right adapter for the impact after enlisting the help of a master mechanic in the shop. I'm forever grateful to those guys, whenever we need a tool, it's never a problem and I always return it to the same spot/person who gave it to me as quickly as possible. Adapter is scheduled to come today.

Tie-down chains arrived yesterday and are currently sitting in the back of my truck, and with that I think I have everything I need.

Dad beat me out the door this morning, saw him from the bathroom window towing the canoe, off to pick up his childhood friends for the "fishing tournament" . If anyone downstream on the Juniata finds three sunburnt old men arguing in a canoe, please call the number on the bald one's back and I'll come collect them. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

On the docket for this weekend is as little as possible, there's another patch of mile a minute weed I need to get at with the tractor. Also need to grease the FEL and refuel the tractor.

Stay safe out there y'all and enjoy the cooler weather!
Prayers for all Ailing and Recovering!

Good Morning
65° with a high in the middle 70’s and clear skies for today.

Yesterday started with breakfast with the professor, then a bit of puttering before doing online TSA recurrent training.
I got a welcome break from that when Drew stopped by with some produce and a small project.
Afterwards it was back to computer purgatory until it was time for lunch. Then back to it afterwards. The good news is that it’s done. The bad news is that it was a waste of a beautiful day.

Today is going to start with a bowl of cereal followed by an excursion to the. RC field to hang out with the old guys.

Not sure what will follow that.

We had a lot of Mile-A-Minute that I was battling. Got the County to come out and spray for it on a yearly basis until it was under control. Still get some in spots that I pull up with rakes or the excavator with the longer reach. In fact plan to do some of that later today
On tree of heaven also had the county spray around the base of the trees to kill them since cutting them only makes them grow and spread from roots

Worked on the Mimbus Motorcycles back in my days as a mechanic. The bakes were typical drum brakes for that period. Remember when braking hard using the front and rear brakes at the same time

good morning all. Late start to another pretty day out.
going to drill and bolt my new shed ramps, finish that job, though plan on putting some kind of protectant on it.
Something definitely not slippery

hmmm. I have some experience using nonslip on a boat deck.
I have a bag of polymeric sand. As suggested, how about sprinkling that on a coat of fresh spar varnish? Want it as rough
as possible; glommed up tires full of wet grass. That would retain the wood color, which I like because it matches the wood door.

glad I got Popgadget to cut off the other end to match, looks much better out there,
can see the ramps out my office window and it was bugging me
and likely some of you... to look at those unfinished ends.
Actually I should do my varnish and sand on saw horses and then install the finished ramps.
all of this is a huge workaround vs dumping a truck load of dirt at that one end and reducing the drop outside the door.

I'm also going to look at ways to block off the openings underneath the shed. Coarse gravel under whole shed

headed to Home Depot this morning to get four more grey pavers to underlay bottom of aluminum ramps.

Nimbus Motorcycles is a historic Danish brand that produced inline four-cylinder motorcycles from 1919 to 1959. The company, Fisker and Nielsen, was originally known for making vacuum cleaners under the Nilfisk brand. The Nimbus motorcycle brand was recently revived by a new company to produce electric motorcycles

not to be confused with Nimbus Boats of Sweden, totally different Nimbus. I have a friend with one up on St Lawrence, lives in NY.
No need for a 1"x1" safety rail on the ramps to keep mower aligned?
