Good Morning,
Vt, 62 to start going to 75 with increasing humidity. Mostly cloudy and becoming more so as the day progresses.

Good luck at the track, enjoy your day. I'll wave back.
Lou, I hit 2 exactas but because I don’t bet much money, like $2 bets 😉, I won $7 on one and $12 on the other. Kathleen on the other hand hit an exacta for $80 and change. She was the big winner for the day. 🙏

On the way out of the track we walked by all the horse stalls, sure doesn’t look like animal cruelty to me, the finest hay and feed and grooming by multiple groomers. The animals are well taken care of IMHO !

May go for a quick ride out on the lake before we close up the cover on the pontoon boat. Still need to go to the dump to get rid of the majority of the garbage.

Looks like rain moving in tonight and tomorrow so I’m thinking we will head out later today.

Buppies, glad you are Ok, I do try
And drink a couple big mugs of water and cranberry juice during the day to stay hydrated. When I forget my body lets me know about it 😉

Hope all have a good Sunday 🙏

Good morning
63° and sunny after a bit of early fog. High in the upper 70’s and partly cloudy wit no rain in the forecast.

Yesterday was fence repair day (actually the first of probably several),but we made progress. Replaced broken posts, replaced fabric and fixed some gates. Unfortunately, discovered another broken post after the auger was off the tractor and put away. We identified a couple hundred feet of fabric to be replaced and a few more gates to be tweaked as well as the broken post for the next session. The worst part of the fabric replacement is pulling the staples and removing the old fabric. The Milwaukee cordless fence stapler is a godsend. The bad thing about it is that it makes it easy to staple every wire on every post, which is no fun if you need to change it.

Drew brought some fresh corn when he stopped by, it made a nice addition to dinner. Grandson also came to see what we were doing, he didn’t stay too long as there tpreally wasn’t anything for him to do. He did come back later for some pulled pork though.

Today, I’ll take the Makita cordless chainsaw and trim the tops of the new posts level. Will likely take a buddy out touch somewhere in the little plane, but other than that,I’ve got no plans. Of course, that is always subject to change.

66 heading to lower 80's today.

Managed to get to the "yard" maintenance yesterday. Only took water/gatorade/fuel breaks while I beat back all the grasses that I came across. I feel it today. The pedometer counter clocked me in for 21,762 steps. I used all available equipment. Including wife. LOL.

Today is entertainment day, some MIL friends coming over. I see the back forty needs attention. LOL. Also another tree shed a branch by the pool. The walnuts seem to be dropping branches too at an alarming rate this year. Could be stress related as we went from wet weather to arid, August being the fourth driest on recorded record so far.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

Rough day Thursday dehydrated passed out no hospital still tired today weak but did get grass mowed got puppy trash put up sticks etc,
Buppies, thankful you are better. Heat stroke is real and it will kill anyone.
Once you have an episode of it, you are more easily susceptible to it for a while. Please be careful. Shade and hydrate.

m7040, glad no one was hurt. runaway trailer....I have hooked up, thought my buddy hit the latch down, drove around the corner and trailer came off ball to hit the curb....snapped the trailer light wires. DOH! Lesson learned. School of knocks. Got off easy that day.

We have not had rain here on top of us. 5 miles away have had 2 inches. I watered between my 2 pecan trees. Need a good soaking rain.

Not sure why, but 1 of our 2 chickens won't go intot the coop at night anymore. Maybe she's near the end? Peahen still does her "weathervane" act on top of the tractor awning.

Getting ready to do church. Might go to 2 church's today if wifey will let me.

Prayers for our team, our nation, Israel and Ukraine.

some MIL friends coming over. I see the back forty needs attention. LOL.

visions of ladies coming in the driveway and Rip taking off fast out the back door to jump on his tractor...as in
how far away can I get

fiddled around in garage, changed oil in snowblower, cleaned it up, ran it for a minute and put it away all nice
and shiny and waiting for snow. I'm a little concerned over the old gas in it; if it didn't have fuel injection, I would worry more.
no carb to gum up
gas is dosed with carb cleaner and stabil

off to downtown for a little light food shopping.
meanwhile in cleaning the garage found my solar charger and set that up charging a
backup battery for my garage door. Turned right on, recognized agm, and started blinking the 100 percent or close
to it light. Am wondering if blinking stops when fully charged

reminds me to put regular smart charger on rv truck battery. Not sure how smart this trickle charger is

Morning all, 74 going to 84 and sunny.
Yesterday's move in to the dorms went really well, impresses with the college staff.
First stop uptown to Zabars to get him some baked goods.
Then downtown to the dorms.
We found out he had not fridge (other roomate is bringing a microwave.
So off to best buy to buy a small fridge.

We also had to move furniture around to make it look like it's supposed to. One bed was set up as a bunk and we thought that would be an issue.

Then off to a restaurant to see if they had a table for us, said 45 min to an hour.
So went off to Eataly (Eataly New York Flatiron: Restaurants, Private Dining and Catering). Kids on line for gelato when I got the call the table was ready.
Back to the restaurant ( a really nice Thai place with old wood peices from Thailand).
Had a great dinner , then back to eataly to get the kids Gelato.
Then said our goodbyes and drove his Gf home and then back home by 9:30)

Lots of walking, spent a lot of time in that area as a kid, now time for Zack to make his own memories.
And a surprise that one of his friends from the bands is next door at another college. We were walking to dinner and saw him and his parents. That was fun,

Wow PopGadet the pond setup looks amazing.

Be well,
Fawns still have their spots, but are getting big

77F and "Fair" @ 13:00, calling for a high of 78F today.

Woman requested 2 cups of shredded zucchini for a chocolate zucchini cake She wanted to make yesterday and that ended up altering the entire agenda for the day.

Figured that the tools and kitchen appliances were dirtied up at that point so no time like the present and why not use the opportunity ?

Got 16+ pounds of zucchini shredded, vacuum-sealed in 1 lb bags and stuck in the freezer:

IMG_3843 copy.jpg

Friend stopped by to pick up his part I welded while I was doing that and we visited for a bit. Sent him home with that, a couple more cukes, a jar of kosher dill spears and another quart of sauerkraut. But forgot to send any shredded zucchini with him ... lol.

Very impressed with the Nesco vacuum-sealer ... has 2 heater strips so that bags are double-sealed, pulls a good vacuum, and seems to be able to sense liquids a lot better than the previous unit we had. Have had no liquids in the drip tray so far. Is pretty quick. Nesco Premium Vacuum Sealer featuring LiquidLock™ model VS-22LB ... highly recommend ... (y)

Woman decided She wanted "something good" to eat so She headed over to Pancho's early to pick up dinner to beat the crowds. I opted for a deep-fried carne adovada chimi with refrieds and rice. First time I had tried it and it was a winner ... absolutely delicious.

The chocolate zucchini turned out great ... very moist ... I ended up having 2 pieces with a glass of milk.

Did manage to remember to get the electric bill paid so it was on time.

Woman talking about how it's a beautiful day outside and getting out there ... after She cleans up the kitchen of course ... ;)

I'll probably head out here in a bit and finish filling up the Buffalo and get started on that watering.

Maybe start shredding and packing the yellow squash later this evening. Thankfully there isn't quite as much of that.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)
