I tried using a much lighter duty bucket ( Harbor Freight) 12" bucket on my TLB and as some on here predicted it eventually peeled open like a sardine can. Made it about 200 feet and caught a Good sized Pine tree root.Kinda makes sense ... Since there name is based off the tiny SCUT "BX" ... But, they to go up to "L" size ... Not counting there Piranha Bar . . .
But I was able to dig 500 feet of 3 foot deep trench with it once I did some repair, welder/reinforcement work to the bucket and is holding up well enough for trenching at the dirt cheap price of $200 if labor is free.
Any backhoe beats a shovel and different strokes for different folks. Any backhoe is better than none.
