Dresser td7h fuel return question.

I had the engine out of my crawler for a couple months. Now its back in and I can't remember what the fuel return line goes into. After the injectors it goes back to the injector pump but it t's off and goes straight down to the mechanical fuel pump. There's a hose fitting coming out of the crankcase down there too that I can't remember what to hook it to. Im hoping someone with experience will know what I need, I can't find information anywhere.

Big eagle welcome. I have a couple of crawlers and I’m sure both have bypass lines that end up going to the tank. Mine are Cats. I wish I could help you with exactly like they were but I can’t. But they definitely don’t bypass to the engine they would go back to the fuel tank by some route

Yep, my Ford has a small tubing connection just below the fuel filler cap (in the neck). Excess diesel gets returned to the tank.

Does it have a Lucas DAV injection pump ? I have a Dresser TD7G with a Dresser/Cummins engine. It has the Lucas pump it looks like this

I can trace the lines and take some pictures if that will help. The fuel return line goes back to the tank like tinhack said.

I ran/worked on a TD10, but if memory serves, it was a Perkins engine with a Lucas Cav injection pump. The fuel return went from injectors, to the injection pump, teed to the fuel filter housing before the lift pump. But a hose coming out of the crankcase defiantly is not for fuel. That would either be for an oil cooler it is in an oil jacket, or for coolant for cab heat if it is in a coolant jacket. Can you post pics?
