How critical is this 'trail'? When y'all are out roaming the woods are crocks your normal footwear?

My T-Post driver is called the 'Rock Finder'.
It is the only way to access the wooded portion of our property, I consider it critical.

I’m not the smartest man in the world, but one thing I’ve learned is it’s a fruitless endeavor trying to tell a woman what to wear…

That's wisdom, buddy! My wife is a service disabled (both ankles) gulf vet turned endangered species biologist. She'll head out into the forest on grades where I am on my hands and knees climbing. Fully covered minus the ruck sack. She's 66 now. She doesn't call me a ***** but that's OK, we all have our skills.

It's the cooties and snakes....

In addition to keeping water from flowing down that particular spot, you might drop a couple trees to get some light for some undergrowth for that section. Some grass/weeds and weed trees will hold soil on steep slopes from erosion pretty good. I have a couple spots that are quite steep off the downhill side of my driveway cut into the hill, but it has lots of light and lots of grass, and also it drains off the side in several spots.

Forestry is a life long project. Every place is different.

Would these be of any utility for you tying into the slope?

I think that approach - with a smaller auger first, then actual anchor.
