Pulling a stump jumper off a Land Pride rotary cutter?

I've removed them a few times. I just put a pipe through the access hole to remove the blade bolts and beat the pipe with a T Post pounder. Hit it a couple times, spin it to the other side, hit it a few times, and spin it to the other side and hit it a few times. Eventually, it always falls off.
Hadn’t thought of using a post pounder like that.

Thanks

I saw it on YouTube and gave it a try. It took about half an hour, and I had my doubts, but then all of a sudden, it was off!!!!

It won, al least with me for now.

It broke my chain. Same setup as before only wits a single chain under the jack & used the blade bolts to hold it. Worked the blade carrier bar near the shaft with a torch until I could ever so slightly see a dull red spot. Pounded on it with a drift & sledge hammer from the top. More heat. Cranked on the jack a bit more & heard a bang. Thought I won. Cranked on the jack a bit more & the chain fell apart.

Sketch factor was already high & I don't need any more injuries.

Try wooden wedge pairs around the stump jumper periphery.

Do you have a T Post pounder?

Just put a pipe through the hole were the bolts go and beat it a few times with the T Post pounder, then rotate to the other side, and do it again. Then rotate it again, and again. Eventually, it will come off.

Shafts on Bush Hogs are notorious for this. Seems to be the acid in the grass that welds it. I used a Harbor Freight 10 ton 3 jaw puller after breaking the 5 ton. Also an Oxy-acetylene torch to heat. MAPP gas is good, but couldn't get enough heat out of a small torch. I had assumed that I was going to chage the seal after that.

You can see the hoses of the new to me oxy-acetylene torch in the photo.

Ya, will give it a try. Beat on it with a sledge & drift while the jack had tension on things. At least its safer than loading up the chain like a 10 ton spring again. That was sketchy as hell.
