How should the gears be arramged?

First thank you for answering I know at this point both are in neitral. The right hand gear was in first, when i first started i put left in first and no movement. How should I have gears?

I had my mechanic out to do a complete tune up. Hydraulic drained and replaced same with oil. All filters replaced. He just drove it back and forth a bit and checked the fork lift and back lift worked. I was ill so did not get on until today several months later. Tractor will not drive forward...
