PTO Shaft to Gearbox Bolts Keep Breaking!

In general, understandable terms: Bolts are [some sort of] steel (dependent on Chemical Composition, see attached). Steel stretches (the modulus of elasticity). Each material has a specified Tensile Strength, Yield Strength, Elongation, and Hardness. Stretching a bolt is Strain, increasing...

PTO Shaft to Gearbox Bolts Keep Breaking!

To me @Windblown's assessment is accurate, the images suggest the fracture to be Fatigue Failure from insufficient preload during install. @wirlybird confirmed he was not torquing the bolts, further supporting the assessment. In my opinion, Shear Force is not the issue, a lack of tension is...

LX Series Replaces B2650 and B3350

Click the model and it goes to the tractor data page I used. I use the 500mm from the pin figures because when using a FEL I'm usually prying up rocks with the dirt, and they're typically near the bucket lip, so around 500mm ~ 20" from the pins.

LX Series Replaces B2650 and B3350

LX3310 lift/brkout: 769/1634: +48%/+65% vs the BX For the increase in price (with FEL), to me it's not as big of improvement as I'd like. The old B was more affordable and much more capable (sans regen). If the numbers are real-world-relatable the B's breakout was likely overboard for the...

LX Series Replaces B2650 and B3350

    BX2370 vs B2601 (full at 500mm) lift: 518 / 659 lbs : +27% breakout: 992 / 1520 lbs : +53% Older B3350: lift/brkout: 827/1691: +60%/+157% The B3350 has numbers matching its frame size increase (or at least what I was hoping for in a B).

LX Series Replaces B2650 and B3350

This is an interesting post as I've been reading old threads looking to perhaps replace my BX with a B3350 for more FEL and PTO capacity...but, there was that thought in the back of my head that some older B models had regen problems... Looking at the price of an LX in 2025 and the (as of 2025)...

    Bx1860 vx B2320 - Contrast/Compare

Another great thread, thanks for keeping it going. Now I'm thinking about keeping my BX because I too am no spring chicken, and it does get the job done--a few more smaller chunks at a time, but it gets there. Eventually my bigger jobs will be finished and I won't "need" a B, so guess I'll see...

    B3200 BX2660 SIDE BY SIDE...NOT BETTER....DIFFERENT

I have a BX2370 now and it's awesome, what it does for its size is incredible. However I would like more ability from the FEL, both to dig/carry ground and for lifting logs. Rather than overtax the BX by putting in larger lift cylinders (which would do nothing for the curl ability and have the...

    Kioti Grapple Buyer beware!!!!

As a note, A-36 mild steel (used by MTL Attachments) is 36KSI yield, AR400 is "Abrasion Resistant" material and 184KSI, so the resulting product is much stronger for less weight. Hardox 450 is even tougher. Be aware buying a grapple made with soft materials is likely fine for picking up brush...

    BX2763A front blade manual

Similar here, bought the plow used and could use a manual for it. Kubota makes a great machine, I wish they had a manual library on-line. Could also use a manual for a BX2751 subframe and BX5450 snow blower.

    Which WICKED Grapple? A Guide.

Thank you for the above post, from EA's website I had no clue what happened, the EA site is still up and functioning like nothing happened, and in theory EA is still producing implements... Another tractor site also laid out the gory details, which are very unfortunate. Another great equipment...

    Which WICKED Grapple? A Guide.

I recently picked up a low-hour 2017 BX2370. For the lawn it has a 60" mid-mount mower. For moving ground it has a F.E.L. (bucket) and counter-weight. I'd like to be able to blow snow in winter, and specific to this thread to clean up windfalls and put in walking paths in Central Wisconsin...
