Compression ignition engines are void of ignition components, one of the blessings of a hard working engine vs gasoline. Go over the fuel tank, replace fuel filters, then bleed the fuel system after you've verified all of the tank, lines and filters are clean before attempting to start.
Funny enough TYM's Kukje/Cummins/Onan design engines seem to have some of the least emission problems overall! I still haven't had a regen in 613hours on mine in over 5 years. It is as reliable as a old Toyota.

This procedure is known by most GOOD TYM experienced mechanics. Agree you shouldn't had to experience what you did. I'm fairly mechanical and I have never needed a dealer or their like. This was a failure by your TYM dealer 1st and foremost as they represent the brand forward.
