    Replacing fuel hoses on GC1715

All right. It turns out there were two leaks. The first one I was able to fix with just a 1/4" brass union and some hose clamps. It was the return line from the injector pump to the tank. After I fixed it and started it I discovered that the line from the pump to the injector pump was also...

    Replacing fuel hoses on GC1715

I opened up the area under the steering wheel and found another nest, and the cut fuel line was visible right next to it. There's a hole chewed through the loom around the line, and then a few nicks that opened up the fuel line. I think I'm going to just repair it by cutting the line in half at...

    Replacing fuel hoses on GC1715

This is actually pretty helpful. I really had no idea how to even get to that area behind the engine. Do you happen to know if it's okay to use off-the-shelf fuel line as long as it's the right size, or are there requirements that mean I need to order the pre-molded hoses from Agco?

    Replacing fuel hoses on GC1715

Hey all. I made a bonehead mistake the other day. I was cutting down a hedge tree that was growing in the middle of some junipers and using my 2017 gc1715 to tug out the branches as I cut them off. At the end of the day I left my tractor back there and walked to the house. That was three days...

    Modifying a rotary mower

I'm at least the third owner, so I don't know what the first owner had, but the guy I bought it from had a JD 1025 and said he used it as it was, and was selling since he got rid of the tractor. I'm a cheapskate so I definitely don't mind an hour or two with the grinder and drill instead of...

    Modifying a rotary mower

Yes I planned on reversing the pin, mentioned in the op. I'm also leaning toward the cutting now though after a few comments suggesting it. For mowing, yes. But I have to shorten the link as short as it will go and still can't lift the back off the ground. So I switch to the solid link at the...

    Modifying a rotary mower

Checked that bit, the top link can go to about 15 degrees from vertical without hitting anything. Thanks for the heads up! Won't be adding a hydraulic top link, no remote hydros at this time and it's not in the budget. Sure would be nice though.

    Modifying a rotary mower

Forgive me since I'm kind of new... But can you elaborate a bit on "the rearward verticals ought to be vertical (same side of risers)". It's not clicking for me.

    Modifying a rotary mower

I have a MF GC1715 and I just picked up a 60" King Kutter rotary mower. Got it pretty cheap @ $500. In very respectable/serviceable condition. Ran it awhile to cut some overgrown pasture grass and small saplings and it works fine. However, it is quite obviously not made for a tractor this size...

    How to approach lawn renovation

Hey all, I'm looking for advice on lawn renovation. My side and backyard have been neglected for about 2 years during some bigger DIY landscaping projects and it's time to get things right. There's about 20,000 sq ft to do. Much of it is very bumpy, uneven, and overrun with weeds from the 2...

    New vs used tiller

I've got a Massey GC1715, 25 hp with just under 20 PTO hp. I'm ready to upgrade from a rear tine walk-behind tiller to a 3 point tiller. Main uses are going to be two small food plots in heavy clay soil and a veggie garden in a more reasonable soil. I'm looking in the 48-54" range. I've got to...

Rear Finish Mower  Used Landpride finish mower price check

I'm very new to the tractor and implement world. I've got my tractor picked out - GC1715 - and am picking out implements. I'm trying to save a few bucks and am comparing a new Tar River (Chinese made I think) 57.5" rear finish mower @ $1300 from the dealer, or I just found a used Landpride...

Realistic finish mower size - GC1715

So I'm in the midst of the debate between a 3 pt finish mower and the belly mower for the tractor I'm buying. Dealer is selling me the belly mower at cost, or I can get a Tar River RFM for about $1100 less. Belly mower is 60", RFM is 57.5". I also have a 50" zero turn mower that I'm keeping...

    Financing fees

I went to a dealer on Saturday morning to check out GC1705 tractors. All they had left were the 1715s, but I think he put together a pretty great package: Tractor/loader: $12,000 60" belly mower deck: $2,650 48" box blade: $895 Sales tax: $1,115.64 Total: $16,610.64 My question is on the...
