Nice score! I bid on a couple of them through online auctions, but they went for crazy money, in my opinion. I ended up with a Vermeer 935, that "runs and operates" according to the ad. I haven't seen it run or operate yet, but I guess it runs on dirt, rust, sediment, and old kerosene...

Sounds like a good solution to a difficult time! I'm pricing Generac whole-house generators presently, hope to install before summer's over. I have a setup similar to yours, but only 7800 watts. I'm getting to be too lazy to bother with it, though.

Hello, I just bought a well-used Vermeer 935 chipper with a rusted-out battery box. I am shopping for a replacement box and I see plenty of plastic options, but they have nylon straps to hold the lid on, and no way to lock it. There are some aluminum options too (Summit Racing & eBay) but...

Virginia regulations look exactly like other states we've reviewed in this thread. I wonder why they claimed a Class B CDL would suffice for a combination over 26k including a trailer at 14k?

@screamin400 that seems like a big mistake for someone who just studied and tested on this topic. LD1 is correct, and NYS law appears to be consistent with most other states cited in this thread. From New York's website:

Your flow chart shows a trailer of 10k or less, towed by a truck at 26k or less... does not require a CDL.
