There are fuses to check. I have the 5520 which is similar. I've got the cab version and if you have the open station fuses will be in a different location. But on mine they're under the left console and under the center steering wheel pedistal.
I've switched to electric on two tools. Snapper for mower and trimmer. They're both 60V and do a great job. More pricey than many others but after researching tools have found them great. Plenty of power and good battery longevity. I also don't run the battery down all the way and take them off...
Today is the second day of this storm. Should top 6in in 24 hours. Fields look like lakes. This isn't normal for Central Texas. NTW; 45 this morning. Normal high is 80.
I've been invaded by armyworms. Heard a news report on how the buggers are worse this year due to the recent rains. Went and checked my fields and they're everywhere. I've been keeping my fields taller so the horses would have more grazing but I've lost one complete field already and an spraying...
I have a 2004 5520 and about to replace the expansion valve. Freon has already been recovered. Anything to watch out for? Special tools? I have the parts on hand (valve, receiver/dryer, o-rings).
Bought a 2004 5520 with about 1000 hours a couple of months ago. Great tractor and only a couple of issues. On day one of use I noticed that when turning the steering wheel vibrated. Didn't think to much about it as this is my first MFWD tractor. Well just recently I've noticed that when raising...
Well the new season has started. Did my first cutting on Saturday. Everything went perfectly no problems at all. Raking went just as smooth. Baled first bale came out perfect second bale not so good after that could get a bale to save my rear end. It's an old baler so out with the old and in...
I've got a 2008 5103 that makes a horrendous rattling noise when going downhill or whenever the tractor isn't pulling any load. A little bit of history on this machine. I bought this tractor new in 2008 and it's been a great machine but the first winter there was a lot of rain and later below...
I have a project where I need to extend a cylinder and wait for a lever to trip the retraction of the cylinder. On another circuit I can use a log splitter valve with an automatic return but on this one I need to wait until an action takes place before I retract the cylinder. I was wondering if...
To those of you who has used one of these. Have you ever gotten a "tight" bale. I know they will never be as tight as a newer baler but wondering if there was a technique that would help. This is what I've learned so far. Start the bale in the lowest pto speed your tractor will allow (that tip...
I am looking for a unbiased comparison of 3pt or subframe mounted backhoes. I've looked at the various posts here but would like some updated information. So far I've looked at Woods, WoodMaxx and Liberty. I'd like to see some personal opinions for the models purchased. Other brands would be...
In the 2015 hay season I posted that I was trying to salvage my fields due to lack of rain. Well the question of the day is am I wasting my time? Here's the situation I'm growing Bermuda (Texas Tough) to be exact. Love it for the drought tolerance as it's still green even though no rain for 35...
Finally have been able to get into my fields to bale. First here's the setup Vermeer 605C with "some" belts being new. Hay is Winter rye and Bermuda mix. Very dry and small to medium windrows. With all the rain we got in May I wasn't able to do anything and the hay got overgrown. We'll cut...
Came across this thread the other day and show what I created a few weeks ago.
What I like is if I need to move to PHD I can chain up to the loop at the top and move the whole thing elsewhere.
