The culprit is this 90 degree elbow that sits between the engine and the firewall, it slips onto a nipple on the top of the transmission. I was tugging at it with some long needle nose pliers (trying to trace it) and accidentally pulled it off, I have no idea how I'm going to get it back on...

I'm having trouble IDing the fluid.. it's really oily but smells like old diesel.

Oil looking good. Also drained the fuel filters. Lower one had sla bit of algae in it, the upper just had a little trash.

Haven't run the tractor in a couple months, started it up and I've got fluid everywhere. What is this overflow/blowoff hose behind the engine?

I stopped into the tractor store to pick up trans/hyd fluid a few hours ago. He said that he had a tractor in earlier this week that had blown out the seal due to the same bug that plugged my vent tube. They split the tractor and replaced the seal. I was really sweating.. I can't imagine...

Cleared out the vent tube, overfilled slightly with hydraulic fluid, and ran the tractor for an hour. By the end of the hour, all the areas that were saturated and dripping had pretty much dried up. Seems it was a positive pressure issue in the transmission housing. Must have been blowing oil...

Dirt dauber had plugged the vent tube for the transmission housing. Could that have caused this? I put the plate back on and cleared the vent tube, I'm curious to see If the leaking continues.

So I took the bolts loose off that plate, hyd fluid started pouring out. It seems like it is supposed to be sealed, it has a thick rubber gasket around it. I didn't remove the plate since I believe the only way I'll be able to get it out is to remove the front drive shaft. Is fluid OK behind...

What other fluids are present other than hyd fluid, diesel, and engine oil? I was thinking initially that it could be brake fluid lol. I'm used to working on cars, not tractors.

I'm pretty sure it's hydraulic fluid - It's not engine oil and it isn't diesel fuel. Seems to be coming from behind the plate. Tractor is low hours, I haven't looked lately but I'm guessing 300. Any ideas what it is and can I run it (while monitoring the hyd fluid level) while it's leaking? I'm...

I finally got my cylinders, the shop was like 2 weeks late but overall I'm happy with the result. The hydraulics shop said that the material the rods were made from was very soft, so soft that the press actually put indentions into the rods. They polished those areas after straightening and said...

I called them yesterday. They have had them for going on 20 days, they said that the would get to them the following week. They still haven't even looked at them. Said they might have time today. If they haven't looked at them by Monday I'll probably just order the ones from Magister.

So I got the one cap off but I was then scared to extend the rod with it pressed up against the threads on the barrel. I drove my truck on the cylinder and was able to get the cap slid back into the barrel enough to protect the rod from the threads. I hooked it up to the tractor to get the...
