Icom and Yaesu are the two big players in the VHF aviation handheld market. I have a Yaesu. Icom makes some panel mounted transceivers for aircraft as well.

    Good morning!!!!

Good Morning 63° with a high in the upper 70’s under a mostly clear sky. Quite an improvement over the grey, damp day that was yesterday. It only yielded 3/8” of rain, but was not a nice day to be outside. It messed up our streak at the RC club, the old guys were trying to get out every day for...

    Good morning!!!!

Good Evening Nice most of the day, a passing rain shower earlier, another on the way. Day started with breakfast with the professor, then pick up my friend and off to another gathering of old guys at the RC field. We went to lunch afterwards, I had a great time, weather permitting, going back...

    Red Dyed Diesel

Same thing here, but they advised me to add the lubricity, because the didn’t add it at the terminal because the majority of the truckload was sold as heating oil. This is what they recommended- https://www.biobor.com/products/biobor-jf-diesel/

    Red Dyed Diesel

No I don’t. I think that they are buying off road diesel (which has the lubricity additive).

    Red Dyed Diesel

One other difference between ULS heating oil and off road diesel is that there is a lubricity additive added to the diesel. This is important in a modern common rail injected engine. Biocide and Cold flow can be added as well. All are available to be added in the field. Older mechanical...

    Good morning!!!!

Good Morning 54° and grey out there this morning. Yesterday was a nearly perfect day to be outside. Started by moving a couple of bucket loads of cut logs that I dumped in a hedgerow to get them out of the way down to the log pile to be split. Got the Lazer out and did all the trimming and...

    Good morning!!!!

Good Morning 56° partly cloudy with a high of 70 or so. Another dry day. Yesterday was a pretty lazy day. Went to Vansant airport, hung out with a batch of old timers reminiscing about when we weren’t old timers, and watching planes that were older than us flying. Son and grandson were there...

    Good morning!!!!

GFCI has nothing to do with overall current draw. It only reacts to an imbalance in current between the two power wires that would indicate a leakage to ground. If it’s tripping the GFCI, there is likely an issue with insulation. If it’s tripping the circuit breaker, it’s drawing too much current.

    Good morning!!!!

Good Morning It’s 64° and sunny, not a cloud in the sky. High below 80. Wonderful day to be outside. Yesterday was a good day. Had a great time with the old guys at the RC field, son came over and brought a plane. Wife and youngest son went to Costco without me, so I had no time constraints...

    Good morning!!!!

Good Morning 68° and sunny, going to stay sunny with a high just over 80. Yesterday was a good day at the RC field, had my friend flying one of my planes, he is ready to jump back into the hobby, which is great, it will keep him busy and distract him from his medical issues. Afterwards, I...

    Good morning!!!!

Good Morning 62° with a high overcast, sun peeking through the clouds. Supposed to clear and reach 80. Yesterday’s trip was uneventful, a bit of weather off the coast, but nice at the Vineyard. Passenger’s daughter brought us Liz Lemon sandwiches that we ate on the way back to Philly. They got...

    Good morning!!!!

Good Morning 63° and might not make it past 65 today. Mostly cloudy with a good chance of rain. Yesterday’s trip went well, I hope today is a repeat, except that today I’ll commute by Prius rather than plane. I got home in time yesterday to empty the manure bin, it was 3 truckloads. Pressure...

    Good morning!!!!

Neither do I. I used ABS for that reason. If it fails, I might try PAHT-CF before going to stainless steel.
