    PTO chippers

Haven't seen anything on PTO chippers. Must be looking in the wrong place. Ordered a Woodland Mills TF68 last Thursday. Got notice today that it has shipped. Much better than the lead time they had on their website.

    Starting up old rototiller

Years ago I used to till gardens as a hobby/extra cash. Found and refurbished a 1946 Graham Paige B16RS. Large two stroke engine with a wire rope on the recoil. Had a Fairbanks magneto with the impulse start. Just barely needed to get it over tdc and it would fire up.

    Any good books about welding?

Lots of good welding books. Very basic old school book is the Forney welding manual. They call it stick welding for a reason:)

    For those with block heaters

Have to strongly disagree with the blowing up batteries. The battery blanket will make the battery warm to the touch. The fleet of police cars I worked on as a tech for the RCMP here all had them for the detachment cars around the province. In the fifteen years I was there, never had a blown up...

    For those with block heaters

From frosty Saskatchewan Canada here. My block heater is on a remote outside Christmas light control. Turn it on at least three hrs before start when it's below -20. During a blizzard it's turned on and ready. Has an indicator light that I can see. Block heater is 350 watts. Also one of the...

Elevator for Pole Barn - updated photos with cycle counter

We picked up an old electric fork lift to fab up an elevator. Sold the battery for scrap, into it for $100 now. Will strip the mast and pump, mount it to the barn wall. Run with three batteries for 36 volts.

    1742 Front wiper blade

Just a heads up. Don't know if this has been covered. Needed a front wiper blade for my 1742. Dealer said comes with arm only at around $116.00. Lady gave me a Napa number 6-016-A. Exact fit, under $20.00.

    Stump bucket

Going to transplant some caragana bushes for a snow break. Being frugal and having the right material on hand, I built my own. Although smaller than the others, this one works well. Had to buy a 5/16 plate and had a section of 22 inch pipe that I’ve been carving bits off for other projects. Got...

    New blades

Needed new blades for my Titan 60. Dealer last price was $135. Ordered some 8Ten off Amazon as per Project Farm on YouTube. Managed to tag a piece of 3/8 rebar yesterday. Cut it in half with minimal damage to the blades. They should rename these as Ten Ten. Highly recommend them

    Starter solenoid

A starter draw test on the tractor is needed. Find an old mechanic. He may have an old style, analog tester to hold up against the starter cable while you crank. I still have my testers. One for charging systems, the other for starter draw. Old technology still works. 125-35 amps is good. If...

    1742 regen

Just waiting for it to warm up a bit. I have some thin plywood and plan to do just that. Put in place of one of the screens for the rest of the winter. My tractor shed isn't heated, doesn't fit in the garage.
