Another looking for a flux core MIG welder suggestion thread

These MVP are left over from the old Miller line. ITW is squeezing as much as they can from these units.

    which mig?

It actually doesn't The specs say it will barely put out 220A for something like 10 seconds. Otherwise it is just 200A output...and this is according to their own specs.

Flux Core vs MIG - best YouTube comparison I've seen

Self shielded Flux Core is actually a more expensive option. It not only has a shelf life of about 2 years and needs tight, dry storage, it is more expensive per pound than gas type (and yes there is a dual shield type flux core with gas which is best for many different applications). The extra...

Just wanted to let you guys know officially that Everlast is now in the Laser business and has been for most of the past year. But now that most of our line is assembled, we have a solid line with great technical support to help the guys through that are in need of this new technology. The...

    Any good books about welding?

The welding "bible" from Lincoln is a good resource (first one posted in pics above) but it is horribly arranged and lags behind in technology. I have one myself, but it isn't for someone trying to learn. It's valuable as a "check" or a procedure guide, but it isn't great on teaching the nuts...

    Any good books about welding?

Yes. I've always collected welding books and taught with them. There have been a lot of welding books and texts written, but most of them nowadays are full of irrelevent content and sound like they are written by someone without any knowledge of communication. The old WW2 welding manuals were...

    My Cyclone 212ES review

The units come with handles on the ends and the middle for lifting. You don't have to install them. We designed it for a more compact, permanent look if the customer chose not to need to lift or carry so that the unit still could look good and function without them.

    My Cyclone 212ES review

Nice looking work. I see you opted out using the optional installed handles.

    Laser welding by hand

They are stealthy. You don't see the beam. The first thing you'd have is intense burning and smoking of the skin. It will flash burn at the contact point...but the beam itself is in the invisible light spectrum. There is a "pilot" laser of sorts which is in the visible range that is a class 1...

    Laser welding by hand

The armed services are using them to shoot down planes. Just more wattage. What ever you do, do NOT, I repeat do NOT look up the guy who was pruning his palm trees with one on youtube. We don't need that kind of press (not our unit anyway, just a cheap import model).

    Laser welding by hand

It depends. Starts around 7900 for a 1250watt table top unit, and 10k for a 1500w. It goes up from there.

    Laser welding by hand

Everlast has been selling Laser welders for about 6 months now. They are great machines, but there are limitations. They work great for long seams and items that don't require ALOT of intricate manipulation. Some manipulation is possible, but the laser cable and the additional wire feed makes...
