I had never owned an automatic trans until several years ago when I bought a 7.3L 1996 F250 from a friend. When the E4OD auto started acting up I replaced it with a ZF6 manual transmission. It has been a huge improvement.
Welcome to the group. Just a suggestion, it might help getting responses if you mention the model of your tractor in the title. Also, pictures of broken parts always help.
I have an older Teslong that has since been replaced by the articulated models. It’s well made for the price, has been very useful and I would buy another Teslong.
The Iseki manual for the GC1720 does list a "Governor, all speed." I hope I haven't been coming across as argumentative, it's just that I initially do not accept any info that comes from the internet, and...you guys are, after all, the internet.:)
I have noticed that the rpm's will drift down...

There is a difference between a Diesel engine designed to power a generator and a Diesel in a subcompact tractor. I’m hoping someone can provide an explanation about a governor in a small tractor.
The thread starter here has a 25 or so HP subcompact tractor. I also have one and I'm not convinced there is a governor. The throttle lever controls the fuel feed in the injector pump but I don't see any sort of feedback device. I think any significant load increase is going to drop the...
