Do You Have a Tractor Shed/Barn?

I’m traveling so I have to post them when I return.

Do You Have a Tractor Shed/Barn?

I have a nice 40x60 steel barn for the tractor. PTO implements reside outside under a carport, and blades and plows reside outside.

    glyphosate and 24D mix Expiration?

Agree. Just a triple rinse and flushing the boom would be sufficient.

    Front-End Loader Danuser Intimdator

Simpler to just buy a log choker cable. They aren’t expensive.

    glyphosate and 24D mix Expiration?

Glyphosate (Roundup) will kill most actively growing plants, so good cleaning after that chemical is important if you want to spray 2-4-D on the lawn to kill broadleaf weeds.

    Making Mugolio or Pine Syrup

Well, working in the woods I have bitten down on a few pine needles and tasted sap balls. It never made me think this would be something good to eat. Native Americans used to strip bark and eat the soft inner cambium of pines during times of hardship, but it was never a preferred food.

    JD 4110

I cannot remember how the machine started. I know it was a bit slow in cold weather. You could also just have a prematurely failing battery. I replaced my original with a battery specified for a Honda car. The case size is almost the same as the JD battery, but it has more CCA.

    Making Mugolio or Pine Syrup

Interesting. Pines and conifers in general have a sharp astringent turpentine taste and aroma. I will be skeptical until I hear otherwise.

    JD 4110

I had a 4100 (earlier version) for many years. That is a tough machine and easy to service. It will easily handle a 4’ rotary cutter, 54” tiller, and 6’ rear blade. Be careful with the mid mount mower because it has a tendency to throw up dry chaff into the radiator, causing overheating. It...

    I feel stupid

There is sometimes a need to lift the lower side when sitting on unlevel ground. Extendable links don’t handle that. I’ve been attaching implements for over 25 years and not every situation is the same. My implements that are barn stored on level concrete are a perfect attachment every time. Not...

    I feel stupid

    Cat2 implements are generally 1000#+, not 500# like cat1

Good for you. Looks like you also have cat 1 implements.

    I feel stupid

My blade and plow live outdoors on the ground. Not perfectly level like concrete.

    I feel stupid

True, but I can usually muscle around cat 1 implements with a digging bar. 1000#+ cat 2 implements don’t move too easily even with a bar.
