I also have a CNC plasma table but the reality is for "new metal" projects I can have my parts water jet or laser cut by vendors in the city cheaper than I can buy the raw material, before counting my time or consumables. Scraps and drops are easier to use/nest right below the templet.
All of my electric brakes are activated by positive voltage. If your wiring is like these the reverse lights and right turn signal could be a source for voltage due to a short by a fastener large enough to bridge the gap between the two.
If you are actually providing the ground to the brakes...
As you are already using templets, you might be interested in this simple machine I made.
Templets and speed control are a game changer. The circle above the torch with the hose clamp is for a plasma, have to remove the two bolts holding the torch stand offs.
When's the last time one of...
I have picked them up with auto lifts and even a couple fork lifts before. Used mechanical stops on the fork lifts and released hydraulic pressure before I went under. Auto lifts have them already built in.
Ours has always been hung by a chain on a low branch of an oak tree. A piece of bailing wire holding the tractor end of the drive shaft to the main shaft of the PHD.
The grass is for looking at after you use MSMA not for animals to eat.

I broached my hub for the blade and set the keyway.
Also gathered the stainless tubing needed to support the ID of the pass through for the gear box. I need to make them for the bolts so they are tight against steel vs crushing tubing.
I also came across the right lovejoy couplings for...
I have a forklift mast I wanted to do that with but never have.
I did make my last hay spike so it could be used with pallets though.
It has a better reach than my fork lifts. Like moving a fridge over the steps up to a deck or setting something into the back of a truck past the tailgate...
One mans junk is another mans treasure. Why not just sell it? Recoup some of your loss and give someone else something to do. You could make more off of it than scrap prices, even if someone just needed a single part off the machine.
Mine do too but they have 3 pedals, the center is brake w/out decouple from trans and the left is an "inching pedal" created just for the situation you describe.
A gopher plow would be much more effective and faster. I made this one that makes a tunnel below ground and drops a thimble sized amount of poison seeds very 3ft at a presst but adjustable depth.
The 1" shaft below the hopper has a blind hole in it that rotates when the depth stop wheel is...
