How did you get the gland off? Mine doesn' t seem to have any retaining clips. It does have two flat surfaces on each side of the gland.

It isn't exactly like the cylinder you showed but it does have 2 flat spots. I' l l try putting a wrench to it. Thanks for the advice.

I am new to this forum so please bear with me. I own a 1997 mahindra 485 and recently the power steering cylinder sprang a leak. Took off cylinder but cannot figure out how to take out the gland to look at the seals. Cannot catch nor see any retaining clips. Can anybody help or advise
