    Received Kioti CK 4020 Today

I had a manual thumb on my CK30 BH, useful but a pain to use. When I got my DK40 I added a hydraulic thumb to it's BH. I use it all the time and wouldn't be without it. Neutral vs Brake- I think the HST units need to be in neutral to start and the gear units need to have the brake on to start.

Except for the $$$$$, are there any downsides to a hydraulic FEL PHD?

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

On my way back to VA from MA I got a call from my wife indicating that a tree had come down across our driveway. She had that right. It was about an 80 ft tall dead pine which broke off about 20 ft up. Here is the last piece heading off to the trash pile. Some was solid, some was rotten...

Advice on Hydrostatic Transmission vs Gears

What HST are you using? I have been using HST tractors since 2006 and I have never hit any limit like you have been talking about. Spun the rear tires yes, stalled it out due to running at too low of a rpm yes.

PTO Shaft to Gearbox Bolts Keep Breaking!

Seems to me somewhere in these 19 pages the OP said he put in a longer bolt and hasn't had the issue since.

Advice on Hydrostatic Transmission vs Gears

For me HST has plenty of push. With my DK40 HST in the medium range, with loaded rear wheel and the backhoe on, I can still spin the rear tires and dig small holes if I am trying to push too much dirt. I can't imagine using anything but HST with the dirt work I do.

What did you buy this week?

    - Bought some lag screws so I can assemble my tractor attachment rack. - Bought some 1/4" rope for my sister flag pole. Existing rope is not going to make it thru another NE winter... Don't want to get up and find the flag on the ground.

Kioti vs Kubota Quality - No Empirical Evidence

When I was looking for a tractor, I went into my local Kubota dealership had a pleasant chat with the owner. He showed me a few tractors in the size I was looking at. I was not happy with the ergonomics. We went back in the dealership and he asked what other tractors I was looking at, when I...

    Z-Turn suspension worth it?

I have a JD Z-turn and as I age my back is not liking the bumps on our lawn. I am going to start with a suspension seat kit. If that doesn't work well enough I'm going to have to step up to a Ferris suspension mower. I have talked with a few mowing contractors who have the Ferris setup and they...

Anyone have a MechMaxx 3-pt stump grinder?

Finally got my MM grinder assembled and adjusted. I couldn't figure out how to 'attach' the 24mm adapter to my torque wrench, so I just put a 2' long pipe on the adapter and tightened the nut to my best 'guesstimate' torque value. I set the slip clutch to the 30hp setting. If I engage the PTO at...

Hydraulic auger recommendations for my FEL

I bought a MTL grapple and I am controlling it off one of my rear remotes... seems to work great. Although hoses cost what I thought was a small fortune.
