I live on a hill without a lot of flat ground so I'm stopped on a hill frequently. I turn sideways when I can or turn the front wheels towards the hill but that's not always possible.
I'm talking about short term parking, maybe 5 or 10 minutes. I could turn the tractor off and leave it in gear...
I've read some say only use pipe joint compound on threads. Is there a special hydraulic compound or will any brand do? The Oatey ordinary plumbers pipe joint compound I have says good to 10K PSI with liquids.

I’m putting on my new tire chains for the first time and have a question. There is a lot of slack chain left and I haven’t even rolled a bit to readjust them. Is this normal? Should I cut some of that extra length off or zip tie the excess etc.?

This was in the bottom of an old tool box I've had for years. Looking at images most are gray letters with a blue background. Mine is blue letters with a gray background. What's the difference?

After searching a bit, looks like 14.9s are about 7" shorter in circumference. Probably can't stretch 7" to make them fit.
I guess I could add a couple links for length.
