Anyone else have an unusually large number of hummingbirds this year?

I can't wrap my head around that picture. An owl? Looks more like a fox or rabbit. Edit: Or is it facing left?

Beyond sore, that looked like a ball buster. No beers for either from here on out.

Outside storage for attatchments: How to keep the weeds down?

It has been my goal to build a long loafing shed for attachments. Back up, attach or detach and be on the way. Hopefully some day.

Or at least the tow tractor could have linked directly to the trailer, under the first tractor. That looks like an old Massey which has no frame.

They were probably saying "what took you so long, we've been waiting".

You Know You Are Old When

I had the evening milking, my next older brother took the morning. We always had about 4 cows on the family parcel and milked them to bring to the house and also to feed their calves. I had 6 brothers and 2 sisters and each one of my sisters had 7 brothers. Big family. I was the tail end...

    Cool Nature Photos

I had a Sugar Hubbard winter squash do that 2 years ago, but I saw what was going on in advance and cut some of the wire mesh out to allow the squash to grow. This year I was repurposing the wire fencing and I wondered what the heck is this hole in the wire was from.... then I remembered, I did...

    Buying Advice Kubota L5450

I have low, low hour L5450 with a Bradco hoe, without looking, it has somewhere around 500 hours. Barn kept, a beast and my favorite tractor. Low hours due to being on a remote property. That 5 cyl engine is SMOOTH and never needs glow plugs in our marine climate (down to 15 F).

    Rant on shipping

Same here, but their route is nowhere near 170 miles. I'd guess 25.

    New garage time!

I did that with a ceramic disc* and it hurt like crazy. I got vey little sleep that night and it seemed to take a long, long time to grow out. To this day, that nail separates from the skin farther down than it used to. * fancy word for a dinner plate. But hey, flip flops would be okay...

We are in our summer lull right now. The travelers won't be back from Canada and Alaska for a while yet, the resident's young are out of the nest and there is plenty else to eat. It takes a few days to go through a quart of food at this time of year.

You Know You Are Old When

My parents used Mercurichrome (includes Mercury, a neurotoxin) on us kids. Twitch, twitch.

    Chinese tractor on the web

Don't, just don't. Buying something made under out of country specifications is NOT the same as buying direct out of country.

Exactly. The last thing I need is some drunk's family successfully suing me because he hit my immovable mail post.

I have mine on 4x4 cedar posts set into brackets in concrete. I'd rather the snap-off of the 4x4 than a lawsuit given the day we live in.
