After driving it around for about an hour up and down hill under load/no load forward and reverse the hydro's performance has improved greatly.

I used 10w30 as recommended by the manual. I now wished I first did a mineral spirits flush using the drill while it was on the bench. I was feeling optimistic after the oil change so rushed to put it together and give it a go in the mower...now having second thoughts.
