Wanting to "cut" a slot in the ground

What about a subsoiler? You'd want to weld up something to offset it to one side.

Wanting to "cut" a slot in the ground

If you decide on an edger don't get one with a vertical engine because the belt will need to have a twist in it to power the blade. It will eat belts. Get one with a horizontal output shaft so there doesn't need to be a twist in the belt.

Bullets aren't a problem as long as they're lead. I've sawn through them quite a few times and it doesn't hurt a blade at all.

How could Artificial Intelligence become dangerous?

According to an article I just read not only does a lot of the water get lost to evaporation, but the water that does return to the ground has chemicals that they add to reduce scaling and other problems with their cooling coils. I don't know if it's true or not since it's just something I read...

    Real estate General topic

One of the reasons I didn't want anything fixed is I just wanted the deal done and over. Now selling my old house I realize what a pain even the smallest fix can be if you've moved a long way away. You either need to find someone trustworthy, which isn't easy for small handyman size jobs, or...

    Real estate General topic

When we bought the house we just moved into I read through the inspection report and didn't see anything alarming and that I couldn't quickly fix myself later. When I told my realtor I didn't need anything corrected by the seller he said, "I always have them fix at least one thing." Seems...

Metal. Some portable bandsaw owners will cut yard trees with the stipulation that you pay for the blade if they hit something. The previous owner of my property was a diesel tech and he had chains hanging from several trees. The trees have grown to encapsulate the chains so when I eventually...

    Battery powered chainsaw

I have a Milwaukee version of that and it's incredibly handy. It's in my UTV any time I'm out in it. I was working at my old house a few days ago and needed to cut some 4x4's to make an impromptu pallet. Fortunately I had that little one handed saw in my truck. It zips through a 4x4 faster...

    Battery powered chainsaw

I didn't watch it all but skipped to near the end and it looks like he didn't buck the logs to firewood length or have any limbs to deal with so I'm not surprised he got it done on one battery. Bucking and dealing with the tops & limbs use a lot of battery. My tree climbing days are over, but...

    Need utility Side by Side

I went to China for the first time 6-7 years ago because my company had just built a new plant there. Their engineers were as smart or smarter than any I'd worked with anywhere in the world. They're capable of quality every bit as good as ours. When they don't it's because their customer's...

How could Artificial Intelligence become dangerous?

I'm more worried about water than electricity. There's a data center going in about 5 miles from my place and their water requirements are incredible. They won't be able to pipe in enough from reservoirs so over a million gallons a day will come from ground water. Most of the water isn't...

Do you charge your friends for tractor work?

The fact that he paid you more than he originally offered shows how appreciative he is and that he knows what a good deal he got.

Do you charge your friends for tractor work?

You should feel good that you helped out a friend. I'm in the middle of prepping a house for sale and moving into a new one. There's too much work for me to do alone and it's hard to find trustworthy people who will just get the job done with no drama and when I do it's a heck of a lot more...

    Stuck, really stuck

When I was a teenager a neighbor called asking for help because he got his old Ford pickup stuck in a mudhole. It has a snow blade on the front that was buried up to the hood. He backed his class A motorhome up to it, attached a chain to the bumpers and had my older brother hop in the truck...

    Battery powered chainsaw

A small battery chainsaw (Milwaukee M18) lives in the back of my UTV. It's perfect for trimming limbs and cutting down invasives like honeysuckle and mulberry. It even works fine for taking down and trimming a medium sized tree. It's pretty rare that I'm out working and don't end up using...
