    Mt4 Wet or Dry Clutch

Thank you so much for this.

    Mt4 Wet or Dry Clutch

I was thinking the power shuttle was maybe just doing the clutching for you on a dry clutch.

    Mt4 Wet or Dry Clutch

Thank you! I figured the power shuttle versions were wet, but didn't want to assume. How do you know the power shuttles are wet? Just knowledge of how they work?

    Mt4 Wet or Dry Clutch

Does anyone know if the clutch is wet or dry in the transmission for the Mt468? Does it depend if it's the syncro shuttle or power shuttle? I find it amazing how hard this information is to find.

    Grease Couplers for FEL

Are any of the fittings in that kit narrower than the regular locknlube and able to lock onto a zerk?

    Grease Couplers for FEL

Try stuffing paper towels or cotton balls or something into a deep socket to keep the nut/zerk at the tip of the socket. Can also coat the zirk with grease to keep it from falling out of the socket. Basically need to rig up a 10mm sparkplug socket...

    Grease Couplers for FEL

    Grease Couplers for FEL

The zerks on my MT345he FEL are recessed. I've tried using multiple brands of the lock n lube style couplers, but they're barely too fat to fit in the hole. I filed one down, and it barely fits, but if there's any left over grease in the recess, it won't go in far enough. Has anyone else had...

    Hydraulic Pump Upgrade (Deplorable Diesel)

The pressure relief valve on the mt3 is probably set at around 2480 psi, just like my mt3e. Pressure capability of the pump would probably be around 3000 psi. It's possible the stated 8.2gpm is at a different psi for the mt2 vs mt3, but I don't know. The diverter valve for the FEL 3rd function...

    Hydraulic Pump Upgrade (Deplorable Diesel)

I wouldn't think there's much of an extra hp demand with a larger pump until it experiences high pressure. Unless a function is used, fluid is being pumped through the system with only friction losses from the hoses. There would be a higher load when a function isn't being used, but I wouldn't...

    MT342H vs MT345HE

Did some calculations for boom lift and curl on the mt3 vs mt3e based on the piston diameters used on the loaders for these tractors. The mt3e bucket curl cylinders put out a combined 11,995 lbs vs 17,475 lbs on the mt3. That's 31% less than the mt3. The mt3e boom lift cylinders put out a...

    Hydraulic Pump Upgrade (Deplorable Diesel)

The smallest NH with a pump larger than 8.2 gpm is the workmaster 50. That model has a 12 gpm pump. It's a 9 spline shaft though, and it looks like the implement and steering pumps are a single assembly.

    Hydraulic Pump Upgrade (Deplorable Diesel)

That's a good idea. I didn't realize you can use compression fittings on those steel lines. This sounds pretty easy. I'm going to have to do this if I can get ahold of a pump. Wish I didn't have to go through a dealer for parts though... My closest dealer is 2 hrs away. It's really a...

    Hydraulic Pump Upgrade (Deplorable Diesel)

That's good to know. Thank you for the help. Do you know if the MT4 pump has female threads as well as threaded bolt holes, or just bolt holes? Or are you thinking you could adapt the threaded male fitting on the MT3 tractors to the banjo style on the MT4 pump?

    Hydraulic Pump Upgrade (Deplorable Diesel)

It's been said on here, I think by pcabe5, that the valves are rated for 12gpm. I bet heat wouldn't be an issue. He also said on here somewhere that fluid temps were unchanged after he installed the higher flow pump.
