That's correct, this fixes a non-pull in. In my case the hold in circuit was still working fine, it just didn't pull in. If it's the hold in that doesn't work, you'd have to use a toggle switch to the other wire. flip the switch on to run, then flip it off to disengage the hold in.

Well, the new timing relay didn't fix it. I'm thinking there's some corrosion in a connector or something cutting down the voltage to the solenoid. Without a wiring and connector location diagram, I don't know where the involved connectors are. Recent shoulder surgery prevents me from crawling...

That would be easier, I was not sure if the solenoid could stay energized longer than the original 1 second without overheating.

I don't think the new solenoid comes with the 3 connector pigtail with wires. It only has the 3 pin plug on the case. Maybe I could solder some wires on the solenoid contacts and go that way if I have to.
