    BX 2230 3pt hitch

civilian had the answer I think I was looking for. Tying the arms up does not work, mower does not lower unless the 3pt arms also lower. Moving the arms to the outside eyelets works, doesn't get them as high as I would like, but they shouldn't dig in now. My arms may be a little longer/lower...

    BX 2230 3pt hitch

Is it possible/practical to keep the 3pt hitch in the up position while using the mid mount mower? I can keep the mower deck up while using the 3pt, can't figure out how to go the other way. The arms tend to dig in when I back up on unlevel ground.

Connect Two Wheeler to normal trailer

Horsepower usually is not the limiting factor. Traction is the issue. I had a 8hp BCS 730?, now have a 13hp BCS 850. Either does a fair job on flat ground, which I don't have. If I need traction, especially with my logging arch, I use duals, foam filled, with another 150lbs of barbell weights...

    Liquid transfer pump

It's been a few years, but I think I used the same 12v pump I sprayed with. As in had a Tee on the inlet side with a hose to go into the bulk tank. I am assuming your applicator uses a 12v pump to spray the preservative. If not, any of the 12v pumps designed for small sprayers like for ATV's...

    Attaching pto implements

A caution about removing PTO shields. Years ago a friend was feeding cows, roundbales on a 3pt carrier.. Hung the string on the tail light. Somehow a string got caught on the PTO shaft-unprotected and running for some unknown reason. Took his thumb off, could have been worse. It is the...

    portta-potty ideas

No picture, but we mounted slightly damaged portajon(another story :) on a single axle trailer with a fresh water tank to meet feild worker guidelines. Easy to tow, put a dump valve like for an RV so we can empty into the farm septic tank. It is low, has a ramp, easy access. We use it for feild...

    Front bucket

moving gravel, dirt, snow. Works ok in tighter areas than a larger tractor. Traction is usually the issue. Weights, loaded tires, chains will help. Also good for cleaning manure out of barns. I remember using ours to clean under suspended rabbit cages, a friend had about 400 rabbits in our barn/...

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

I tried stacking the loaded totes one time, thought I was on flat ground, tractor tilted against the side of the shop. I lowered the loader, backed out, will not try that again.

My best guess based on my L3600 is 1200-1500 lbs. I can pick it up, but I can't tilt it, and this is the standard 275 gal totes.

    Wheel bearing issue

    Yearly Service

I try to service all my equipment in the spring, whether it need it or not. If it needs it during the year I do it, but everything gets it in the spring. Oil change, all filter change, fix the minor stuff, make sure everything is clean and greased. I don't put that many hours on any one thing...

    Peddle Resistance on HST

Before you grease, you might want to pressure wash those joints, clean out all the old gunk that might be slowing stuff up. Then grease. You can find the fittings a lot easier also. Just serviced my BX and L, amazing what a wash job will do, and they were not that dirty.

    Power king tractor

They were/are tough little machines, ours had a 14 hp Kolher, with one transmission. Some models had a double transmission setup, could go much faster( not sure that is a good idea for me) If it had hydraulics (ours did not) it was belt driven from a pulley between the engine and transmission...

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

I usually go through about 18, I think I have 15 now, need some more. Just haven't been free when they were available. I have never been able to get ahead on my wood supply, if it dries 6 months split, tha a long time. Heat that big two story white house with radient heat in the floors, and this...

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

Here are a couple of shots at my firewood handling. Old Huskee rebuilt splitter with a Gorillabac log lift. The log lift is just a small crane with a small electric winch, but it is really useful on the big stuff. I am one of those that just hated to use the splitter vertically, and haven't...
