    Ya gotta be careful

A CPAP or APAP makes a big difference. Since getting an APAP back around 2011 falling asleep at the wrong times has not been a problem. Before that I'd drift off in meetings and church. I even fell asleep while waiting for a green light. Now at 76 I can drive for hours whether day or dark...

Outside storage for attatchments: How to keep the weeds down?

I started using Gordon's Barrier after being disappointed with Roundup. Barrier really has some punch.

    fuel additives

After hauling / lifting yellow 5-gallon cans since 1991 I settled on three 55 gallon drums with home delivery a few years ago. That gets algae and antigel treatment. A 12V pump pushes it through a Goldenrod waterblock filter when dispensed.

'24/'25 Mahindra 1126 with FEL, belly mower and mid PTO front mount snow blower

Everyone has different tastes, experiences, requirements, etc. Think it through and get what you really want. This is my 5th (and favorite) tractor. Since the end of 2018 it has been my Swiss Army Knife. It's more user-friendly and easier on the grass than my smaller tractors were. Plows...

    FEL unseated on 1 side

It looks like you managed to get the parts aligned good enough to insert the pin without having the loader seated in the "stirrup" of the tractor's frame. I can't see how the loader would have slipped out of the stirrup with the pin installed.

    O'Reilly Auto for hydraulic hoses

Fortunately there's a REAL hardware store about 1/2 hour away. When I was plumbing the snow plow lines they made up two hydraulic hoses in their service department in about 10 minutes. I forget the cost, but remember it was very reasonable...

    Ac compressor repair.

Your post makes it sound like you haven't had any exposure to this sort of work. If you don't have a WSM and good mechanical aptitude, get someone else to do it or coach you in person.

Wire feed issue with Lincoln 175 mig

We had some trouble with smaller wire feed machines where I worked. It ended when the drive rollers were changed with the wire type. The manufacturer recommended grooved V rollers for flux core and non-grooved V rollers for solid.

    Electric winch

A few years ago I lucked into a Warn on a receiver hitch. It made me rethink mounting. I've had one winch or another since the mid-70's. All were permanently mounted (out in all the weather). First was an 8K Belleview (power in only), then a Warn 8274 that #3 Son now has on his Cherokee, and...

Weed wacker - extending string life

That has a familiar sound. Wifey has an obsession with laundry. I could get by with two changes of clothes.

Weed wacker - extending string life

Why is it that when I decide to "travel light" and stuff a coil of string in my hip pocket instead of toting the whole roll, Wifey always finds it when she does the laundry? Then when I don't take extra string the head only has enough on it to run for 5 minutes?

Woods 90" Finish Mower RD990X windrows cuttings

My BIL has one and his will windrow some if he goes fast in tall grass. When he goes slower it does a pretty nice job. His has chains over the discharge.

Weed wacker - extending string life

Another guy here who never heard of soaking trimmer line. The only time my lines break is when aggressively attacking something like a sapling or big woody-stemmed weed. Of course there's the accelerated wear when trimming against rocks, sidewalks and foundations. I don't know what lines I'm...

    Ford 1510 muffler selection

I have a 1210 and replaced the original horizontal muffler with a DIY vertical exhaust. Rather than a curved end mine is straight up with a flapper. With the factory setup the exhaust could get really annoying. With the straight up it isn't an issue anymore. The Cherry Bomb muffler is not as...

    Looking at entry level welder

Couple of thoughts: You say you have no experience. Before welding something like the example (lifts 4,000#) I'd get some experience. I wouldn't use strut if you're looking at that capacity. Welding galvanized requires some very good ventilation to avoid damage to your lungs. With care...
