What did you buy this week?

We put in 30 Norway spruce 12 years ago watered by hand, 4 years ago put in 40 more 5-6' size and installed 300' of 1/2" feeder line then the 1/4" drip line around each one with an orbit mechanical timer. Some tips - pre-make all your 1/4" whips with like a 4' 1/4" feeder line - I did 24"...

    Electricity usage

BHDS - where are you in PA and are you on PPL service? I cannot believe its $7.6 cents per KWH delivered anywhere in PA unless you are a commercial user? Looking up rates for the Pocono region its $7.9 cents per KWH then another $8.0 cents for delivery or 16 cents a KWH. We installed solar...

Tractor Backhoe Drooping in under 5 hours, rebuilt cylinders, no leaks

Yep - its normal on my little TLB too after 5-6 hours its on the ground - so mine is either pinned up or I put it down when I park it. It's 24 years old now so doesn't stay up as long as it used to.

    Z-Turn suspension worth it?

Another Ferris user here IS2000 with full suspension and highback seat very comfortable. I have been mowing reclaimed forest for a lawn for last 15 years and no complaints. When we had it cleared and stumped then fill and top soil in the early years it was smoother, then as things settled and...

Do you charge your friends for tractor work?

I agree it was very fair and as others stated its a business transaction for him to sell the land. I have several neighbors I do things for with my tools and equipment and don't expect to get paid for it, as we all work together and help each other out all the time. We are fortunate to have...

    Electricity Price Increases

Three MIle Island will restart it's non damaged reactors (that were shut down in 2019) by 2028 as part of a deal with Microsoft to run one of their data centers, also, Bill Gates is behind a project in Wyoming to build a plant there.

    2025 Rippa R-18PRO ?? info

Tracks should not come off that often unless you are turning incorrectly or stressing the track. I put 9" turf tracks on my TT XVIII and its a smoother ride and doesn't tear up turf. Also, I wish they would offer the Rippa 18Pro or similar brand like Huayee 2 ton machine without the expanding...

Eric trust you are healing and feeling better - just curious if you are truck shopping yet, and what are you considering? I'm not crazy about the next gen tundra tho they ride better, and get better mileage. My neighbors have Ram 1500 I have driven them and they are smooth nice driving trucks...

The Life of a Custom Mowing contractor

Looks like real nice second cutting hay - as always, your pics are great and really appreciate your daily posts! Reminds me of baling hay 40 years ago on our farm in Perry County (2000 small bales/season) with a JD 14T baler 40 yrs ago,

    Electricity usage

Yes, I am grandfathered into net metering at the current "delivered" price per KWH and this went away in 2020. Now net metering you get the cost of electricity, not the delivered cost so around .09 cents per KWH. I looked into expanding our array to 10KW from 7.2 - panels and inverter installed...

    Chinese digger recommendations

Not enough hyd flow at 6 GPM - you would need to get a one of the bigger Mini Skid Steers with higher flow pumps and at least 23HP if not more and an oil cooler etc.

    Typhon Terror XVII with cab.

Matt - when looking at these XVII Typhon I believe they are made by Huayee - the thumb and square body panels look very similar to the Huayee. The bucket is thicker and the thumb is more robust too. Typhon sells the XIX too now $14K when 6 months ago they were $10K range.
