Starlink

Everything is increasing, apparently.
I see almost across the board higher prices or smaller sizes/less features, etc…

The only area I have experienced large price declines is local real estate… but that’s for another discussion.

I use lite and it tests at 160+ all the time with some obstructions. Way better than my 30 mb dsl line that rarely provided 20 down and about 3 up.
Fiber is about 1/2 mile away if they pull it here I'll try it depending on what they offer out here.

If you're asking about 100mb service, I don't have starlink but my service is 100mb and I have no problem streaming, up and downloading files. My average speed is anywhere from 80 to 110 down.

Mines also going up to $130, from $120 ... Once I retire I'm shutting it off!
Same here. I got the notice yesterday. The same day auto-pay went in. I've only had Starlink since February. Or was it March. I may roll back to the 200Mb. I never get the advertised 400Mb speed I was promised. 🤬

I don't get the 400mb I'm paying for either, it averages closer to 200mb.
If I switch to the 200mb plan, will I only get 100mb??

I'm pretty sure there was never a 'promise' of any particular speed. It would have said "up to". Speeds are always conditional on situation, weather, obstructions and position of sat in the sky, as well as network traffic.

I've used the Internet a long time, including many different speeds over the last decade from the pitiful DSL available at my rural home when we moved in back in 2016 ("5 Mb/s" rated, in practice 1.5-3.5 real) up to Starlink max plan like you. Frankly, after I got a cellular hotspot at around 35 Mb/s I've never encountered a situation where Internet speed was a factor unless I was specifically downloading very large files. The amount of use cases where 400 Mb/s is materially better than 200 Mb/s is vanishingly small unless you're some type of media creator.

I have seen speeds of 450 mb/s a couple times when checked in the area of 3-3:30 AM. So I will see a monthly increase of $12.50 while using mini in roam with the new rate plan. And that will be $15.00/month increase over the old rate with mini in standby.

In my case I don't have reliable internet without starlink Just spotty cell service.

I only have it because I have almost no other option that can sustain my 4K security cameras ... They are a part of my security system at home while I'm gone on the road ... The only other option was three times the price for a "commercial Wi-Fi" setup, with an additional $10k to set up there tower to reach me ... Of course everyone else out my direction would also benefit ... I said no!

Once I retire I don't need the cameras or the other parts of the system, I get about half signal strength there on my cell phone, even though I can see 5 towers from my back porch, I'll get by ... May not post as many pictures though!
