The right front wheel fell off my Yanmar. I guess it was loose and the movement caused the lug holes in the rim to wear and enlarge until the wheel fell right off.

I am trying to get the lug bolts off so I can put on another wheel but the square plate in the photo keeps moving / rotating and I can't get enough leverage to get them loose.

How can I stop the plate from moving?

Best to ask in the Yanmar section or on the YTOG.

the pic is so dirty and poorly lit it's hard to see what actualy broke.

Either way I had a 19hp kubota that the wheel was breaking around where it would touch the hub. I welded the wheel and it worked just fine for many years. It also had a front loader.

It looks to me like the front wheel hub is sitting on a stump in an apparent effort to use the weight of the front of the tractor to keep the hub from turning. If so, and that isn't working, I would use an impact gun. One other option would be to find a LARGE pipe wrench (the Menards close to me sells a 4' one that would work) to hold the square hub while using a breaker bar to turn to lug bolts.

Clean the manure off so it’s not so slick and use a crow bar across two diagonal bolts to keep it from spinning. If you don’t have a helper to hold the bar, then spin the hub until the bar is against the stump.

Just loosen each one so they can be used with the bar to hold for the next one, then take them all out.
