YANMAR TILLER IDENTIFICATION

Could those tines be for rocky soil? We used to have a tiller that had an extra set of tines (called pick tines?) for use in hard or rocky soils.

All the best, Peter
Here is a shot of a pick tine doing work.

Here is a normal tine doing tilling work and the rear stabilizers making HILLS.

Hey, I found ANOTHER RS1404 ! I can confirm this is the model.

This is owned by a friend on the Mitsubishi-Satoh forum.

I wonder if someone handy with a CNC plasma cutter could whip out some replacement pick tines to fill in the missing ones, or whole set as they look simpler than the paddy tines, to me at least.

All the best, Peter

Sorry I haven't responded before now. Spent time with the family, then laid down with my granddaughter and we both got a week deserved nap. 😁

I have read several threads on yanmar tillers on this forum and many others before joining. I plan to utilize some of the factory parts in my rebuild. Luckily in my job, I have access to metric tools and materials.
It's missing parts . . .

This was a 2-point rotary tiller converted to 3-point.
1400mm is very helpful. The 1400 will be in the model designation. (y)

I'll have to study this one close enough and see if the YTOG has the manual for it.

I'm leaning towards an RS1404 model due to the certain top-link OE parts and the chain housing having the bottom protective kick plate. And this model has the lube port at the top too.

See attached PDF.

only thing I've figured out is that I haven't seen pictures of any others that have all of the extra brackets on the cross tube or ones that have mounts with rubber bushings supporting the center of the sheet metal top. That's what has been throwing me off. Thanks to all of the information I have been able to read through i knew it would be a 1400 series. The odd number of times had me scratching my head too.

I think their preparation for resale, would include painting the adapters.

My theory is 'some farmer with a welder'. Who stopped at functional and rugged. ( BTDT :))

Those tines seem unusually short.
I am already working on a design to replace the crude angle iron mounts for the bottom pins. Plan to remove the sheet metal and straighten out the bends and weld up the holes and cracks.

I watched a short video on YouTube where a guy had a yanmar tiller with these kind of tines on it. He even had some new replacements. I'll have to print out one of the pictures of the tine decals from one of the other threads. To help with installing new ones. I have noticed on some of my mounting points they are marked with an "R", I assume it means right

The Vert. leveling handle RS 1200,1303 I thought it looked familiar. Those 2 models only. Idler bearing as in you Pic. 6207-2RS Tine Bar Idle end bearing.
