Good Tractor Morning Billy,
Scotty, is a 80 meter dipole really that big (long/tall)? Anyway, getting something up 70 feet is quite the accomplishment. Enjoy Riley the black Lab...you'll want to get one after that!
The 80 meter dipole is 135 long. I used this compressed air launcher that propels lead weights way up into the trees to get the line that high. It works great, sometimes the branches snag the line and causes me some headaches but in the end I usually win 😉😂.

Well Riley is our grand dog. And she is only 3 houses down the street so we have regular visitation 😉

Have a great day Billy 🙏

Good morning, the low is 22 and going down to 19°F. Wind S 13 gusting to 19 mph. Flurries, we could get as much as 4".
So much for the plow job I did yesterday. :(
Although tomorrow is going to be sunny, I may wait until Monday to plow. It'll be warmer then.

I think I will jump down the you tube rabbit hole again.

Have a safe day all

when I put the car back in the garage later I need to move it forward another two inches, which is all there's left.
in order to get snow blower out while car is still in garage has to clear left rear corner of car, and I sure don't want to scratch
anything squeezing by. Of course I could pull the car out first but then you have that set of pressed down tracks to deal with.
I have such a small driveway unless we get a foot of snow it's pretty easy to do.
assuming the snow blower starts, and I did run it a month ago. Not sure how much gas is left in it, trying to run it low, then fill with fresh gas and some new stabil. With the little use I've had, and with efi it doesn't' burn much gas, might be remnants of four or five year old gas in it.

my John Deere lawn mowers Kawasaki 23 engine has a very cold heart.
it's never warm, even after I mow on restart sometimes have to use the choke.
But it pops and chugs for a while trying to warm up and it absolutely will stall if I engage the mower before it warms
up a little. I wonder if it is running a little lean.
anyone a whiz at adjusting a Kawasaki carb?

versus the snowblower which when I turn the key, no matter what the temp, that
efi engine starts and just runs smoothly immediately. I let it warm up a little of course because engine is splash lube
and cold oil (I think) takes a little while to get everywhere it needs to.
Perhaps I'm old school on that but I hate to see engines race when they are cold.

in hindsight wished I had gone with an EGO or other cordless snowblower for my little drive.
But as long as that weird efi battery stays charged, the EFI seems tolerant of both the cold and crappy gas.
I usually don't even plug the cord in to start, just turn the knob to on and pull the manual handle twice and it always fires right up.
I wonder who makes that engine. The throttle control is this marvelous rotary control, like a big rheostat. I usually run it well below full speed
and it has enough torque to handle most stuff that way.

let's everyone stay upright out there

26 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's. Snow approaching according to weather people.

Got all house maintenance done yesterday. Complete rebuild of the pull chain toilet, including supply shut off valve. Just need to sand the wood down and reseal it. Should be good for another 20 years. Electric all done. Replaced all GFCI's. Interesting they all went at the same time.

Today need to run out and get food stock, and Christmas lights. Seems the outside house lights have three out of five strings that only work half way. I think I got seven years out of them, no complaints.

Vet and dentist coming later for horses. Will be a busy day. Time to get a move on.

Hope all can enjoy the day. Be safe. Those ailing, get well soon.

Enjoy your day all.

good morning, 22 to start with, should be warmer today

Youngest daughter surprised us and brought us a take out Peeking Duck meal. It was delicious

Installed the flat face couplers on the tractor. Used Loctite thread sealant. Good for another 20 years. I will be 104 before the next flat face coupler change

My shoulder injury is finally back to normal after doing PT for two years. The Dr said it was rotator cuff injury but he did not recommend surgery and instead referred me to Pt. Went to a few appointments and then continued on my own.

I work out daily with a routine concentrating mostly on upper body strength. Hoping that will avoid future injuries, so far it is working for me

Not sure what I will get into today. Need to get wife settled after getting up and getting her the 25 pills she takes daily

Good morning from camp Covington! It's a brisk -10 here this morning with a very light breeze. Was outside with mutts and grabbed more wood. We got outdoor work to do today but we'll let it warm up 1st. The drive down last night was a snowy and windy adventure as we towed a trailer with a machine on it. No big deal, we run snow tries and used to it. 😃

Frits, that's a lot of pills.
I buy a lot of the small containers of no sugar added apple sauce and have to
dump my morning and night pills into them, then spoon the pills down.
Learned that in the hospital.

looks like everyone is getting ready for snow.
Arly yawns and says just another day, just another adventure

my brother's daughter and family are coming up from Charleston to visit right after
Christmas and I was told no presents but some fun food for the two young boys would be good.
ok, let's find them something from Uncle Drew they've never seen before.
Hopefully something memorable in a good way.
I found this, and ordered a PieCaken to be delivered right before Christmas.
I figured the pecan pie layer would go over well
was trying to find something they had never seen before

slice of this ought to bring a little whoa..... to an 8 year old

Coffee has been poured into cup. 26° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 15° with cloudy skies with west winds. Picked up my new sunglasses in town. Traffic was backed up on way to town. So I stopped at got car wash done. The stopped at local park and got a couple of yearly passes for Christmas gifts. Last stop was Walmart. When I got home did conserve energy. Today will be Conserve Energy again.

Buckeye, best feature at Sam's Club is Scan and Go.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.
Beautiful colors on the Jays, Ron. We used to put out peanuts on the deck every morning. It would look like OHare for a bit as they and the Cardinals cleaned them up. If you didn't have the peanuts out by specified time the Jays would raise hell til ya did, lol.

Christmas trains are the best.
tooooot tooooot
always running out of smoke pellets
When my kids were real young, I built a simple 3” high platform with four circles of Atlas O-gauge track powered by four vintage Lionel #1063 transformers, which snaps around our tree stand. I’d not bothered setting it up the last few years, due to a new puppy and the fact that four plain circles of track with no other accessories or stops is actually pretty boring, but they asked me to pull the old rig out again this year.

We are way behind on everything this year, normally we have the tree up and decorated by Dec.1, but there were just too many activities this year for that to happen. Once we have lights and decorations on the tree in the next few days, I’ll try to get a pic. But in the meantime, here are some old pics from when the kids were still little.

I usually try to have a mix of pre-war, inter-war, post-war, and modern trains on the four tracks. But sometimes the kids take over and make it all Thomas and Peanuts. :ROFLMAO:

Good Morning!

Looking at a very cool, foggy east Texas morning. Temp says 58F but feels colder to me.

Have a few things coming up today. A Christmas Party and later a dance recital with our grand daughter.

Got up at 5am this morning and had coffee, checked email, twitter, etc. Second cup is as good as the first and I'll probably pour another one on the way out the door to the farm.

Hope everyone has a great day! Prayers for our Nation!

Morning all, 24 going to 41 and cloudy, calling for up to 2" of snow.
Which lately could mean anything from rain to 12"

Key guy had to reschedule to today.
Need to get Jeep heater fixed for snow tonight
Did get tree, different place, cheaper, than normal.
Chatted chainsaws with the owner for a bit, he just switched to an Echo battery saw and happy so far. He had tried battery in the past and had been disappointed, but when his small gas saw finally aged out, he decided to try again. So far he's done many hundreds of cuts on the smaller pine and is happy with it. Seems perfect for that type of business.

We have a disney monorail set for around the tree, haven't run it in a few years though.

We married in Vegas with a small group of friends and relatives. We spent (a lot) more on the honeymoon to tahiti :)

Well , off to the jeep.

Be well,

Oh, and I finally got the outside lights as “done” as they’re going to get, a few nights ago!

Gorgeous, and boy that looks like a heap of work.

Today is deep cleaning the house before a messy but prone to compulsive cleaning relative visits. Always amusing to watch; the explosion of scattered items happens and then over an hour or two it gets reorganized and put in a place, and the cycle repeats. Despite instructions not to do it, she tends to get up close and personal with our dog and winds the dog up with screams and waving hands and then is surprised when the dog leaps on her. 🙄 I try to look on the humorous side of it, although it takes a few weeks to air out the house afterwards to dissipate the perfume and scents.

Make it a great one!

All the best, Peter

you are five times more likely to get hurt in a motorcycle accident vs cars and if you do
you are 28 times more likely to get killed. Chilling numbers for a very fun sport.

It’s quite telling that even in our small sampling here, a significant number of us have been hospitalized with serious injuries as a result of a motorcycle colliding with a larger vehicle.

It certainly is running lean, and that is by design. Not much you can adjust on “modern” carbs, usually just the air bleed for idle mixture. Don’t be afraid to use the choke, a small amount when engaging the mower when cold would solve your issue.
