Drinking first cup of hot coffee. 24° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 29° with partly cloudy skies and cool NW winds. We got about 3" of wet snow. Did not put snowplow on tractor. Spent most of the day conserving energy. Neighbors need a couple of items made. One is a replacement for worn out snowblower cutting edge. Other is a tool to remove a bad Kubota engine block heater/ Always nice to get time working on projects in heated shop. That should be enough for today.

watched a video of 51 Houston drivers getting tickets for driving past
school busses with lights on and arm down. Almost all opposing traffic who don't think
they have to stop, oh it's over there....
painted lines do not count
only one legal way to pass a flashing light schoolbus:

• Physical barrier exception (red lights): The only exception to stopping for flashing red lights is if you are traveling in the opposite direction on a highway or trafficway with a clearly defined physical barrier or dividing section (such as a concrete median barrier, guide rail, or a strip of grass) separating your roadway from the bus's roadway. A turning lane or painted lines do not count as a physical barrier. In this situation, you may proceed without stopping, but should still use caution.

going to send video to my nephew's 15 yo son who is champing at the bit to drive.
And who is mature enough to actually think about this.
it's a serious ticket with a lot of points; new driver would lose their license.

No Chicago weather coming my way when wind is coming from NW. Weather Guessers say next chance of wet weather is Sunday.

Saw a car passing a School Bus with all lights flashing while picking neighbors son up Friday. They are finally monitoring traffic on my dirt road. It is crazy to have speed limits on paved roads at 45 mph and dirt roads at 55mph. Should be 35mph. The high speed allows drivers to drive crazy.

44 going to 51 and windy. Had 2 thunderstorms pass through last night. My son and I sat on the porch and watched.

Ken, nice job on that firewood. I don't have to use vertical mode too often, but glad it's there...sometimes even the quartered splits are too heavy to lift.

Yesterday was a hike and swim day and then a John Wayne movie. Son came over to pick up a deer stand not used any more, and to chew the fat.

Good morning, the low is 18 and going up to 25°F. Wind N 11 gusting to 20 mph. 70% chance of snow.

Unless we get a large amount of snow today, I am not doing anything today.

Here's the blower setup. Beats pushing the thing up and down the big hill that is my back yard

I have the same leaf blower, although my Zero Turn is a Toro. I’m sure it will work. How did you clamp it on ? I’m sure I can devise a mounting bracket out of junk I have laying around.

42 outside this AM, heading to 50....maybe.

Weather moved through last night with a few rumbles of thunder. One lightening strike in the back forty. That one the wife caught, then the boomer shook the house. Yikes. Even the neighbor called over. LOL. It dumped a few seconds of rain, then promptly passed us by. Looking out the front porch, north direction the sky was being lit up for a few minutes. Loud, fast and entertaining.

Not much on the agenda today. All stocked up with firewood. So we are ready for the cold snap. Please keep thoughts of snow to yourselves. LOL.
