TYM T224
Against my better judgement, I signed the papers for a new leftover 2024 model year TYM T224 with FEL and 54" MMM today.

I shopped the Kioti CS 2220, and the Mahindra 1120 as well, but the store I got the TYM from came down to a price I couldn't resist as they were very motivated to get this last unit out of their floor space. It's one of the bigger shops in my area and decent to deal with. They're an authorized TYM dealer as well.

I like the features of the TYM. It's got a Yanmar 3TNV74F engine and is configured the same way as the Kubota BX's, where the flywheel is to the front of the machine and the shaft to the hydrostat is coupled to the crank pulley. The radiator is between the dashboard and engine like the BXs because of the configuration. I wish I knew what model hydrostat and rear end were in it, just for x-referencing.

They had to order the MMM for me, so it will be a few weeks before the whole thing gets delivered. I'll post updates for the forum's amusement as really that's all I have to offer! lol

Congrats! That engine is very peppy in that little tractor, and with the size its very versatile.

Congratulations on the new little multi-tool; they seem like nice little machines, post photos when it arrives!

When you start mowing with the TYM I'd love to see some shots of how it does.

I'm still waiting on her. Before I cut them a check for the unit I gave her a good DIY PDI. The unit has been out in the parking lot for months, like all their bigger stuff. The rubber floor mat was dry rotted and cracked from baking in the sun. They had to order a new one. Also, even though I'll never use it, the seatbelt was so rusted and faded the way they had it stowed, it looked like it came out of a junk yard. They're going to replace that as well.

Then, as they were getting it ready for delivery, they didn't like something on the loader. Something was binding.. More parts to order. We'll see..

Best to get it out of the way now.
It's frustrating. No real updates in a bit over 2 weeks. I just got off the phone with my dealer. My sales guy is on vacation this week. The fella that's handling the parts situation for my TYM was gone for the day and they asked that I call back to speak with him in the AM.

This is one of the "good" dealers too. Two stores, lots of inventory, mostly commercial stuff, but a mix of residential and commercial OPE.

I know the situation is likely not their fault and in their defense, they did offer to deliver the tractor to me, w/out the loader (and what ever else it needs) and then come back for it later on. Given I don't have a dire need for the unit, I asked them to bring it to me when it's 100%.

You have every right to be frustrated, and I would be too. All I mean is that had it been delivered, and then problems found that required it's return, it would likely be all the more annoying.

But yes, these delays are something that should be unacceptable, but are so normal these days no matter the brand.

It'll be worth the irritation when your new tractor arrives.

My T224 saga continues.. Still haven't taken delivery of the machine.

I got a call from the owner of my dealership chain. He wanted to keep me in the loop of what is happening with my machine. Apparently rain water can pool in the loader boom assembly due to lack of drain holes. This water froze at some point and deformed some area of a "loader arm" on my machine. This deformed area causes binding, etc.

My dealer has escalated it up the TYM chain, initially it started with the area rep. Now it's gone right up to TYM corporate and per my dealer owner, corporate is working to make it right. I was told today they were able to secure replacement loader arms earlier this week, but the unit arrived somewhat beat up, scratched and with some rust on it, so they aren't going to use it. They keep using the term loader arms, but the best I can tell, TYM calls it a boom assembly and per the parts diagram, the loader boom is all one piece. The loader on my 2024 model year T224 is a TX22P. The boom shows as part number 81612002000SR.

Think of something you would like as an accessory for the tractor and ask for it as compensation for the delays.
Maybe an extended warranty??
I would.
If you don’t ask, then the answer is always no.

Evidently this is the only T224 they have in stock?
I'd make sure they don't register the warranty until day of delivery...That way you get your full coverage once it starts getting used.

Yes, it's a left over 2024 model year. Good call on the warranty. I will inquire about that.

The next closest TYM dealer, which TYM classifies as one of their "platinum" dealers is about 100 miles away from me. My dealer reached out to them about the loader situation and apparently they have had the same issue with them and are waiting on a resolution as well.

I'm not in dire need for the machine, so I'm willing to wait it out longer, but the thought of asking for my money back has been in my head. The problem is, the deal I got on this tractor, loader and mower is thousands less than buying a 2025 or any of the comparable make/models.

If you look up the boom p/n w/out the two letters on the end, it appears the smallest Bad Boy unit shares the same boom. Just different paint.

I wrote TYM corporate this morning about my issue and actually got a call directly from the N.East area TYM rep just a few minutes ago (7pm). Apparently my new replacement loader is still in Rome GA and hasn't shipped yet. He was very apologetic about TYM dropping the ball on this. My dealer has been on him daily. Apparently this failure is an issue specific to the T224 loaders. I explained that I'm only giving them until next week. He understood.

You know, props to the rep for reaching out to you, that doesn't seem too common these days.

That said, I understand your ultimatum to them, a tractor you can't use is no good deal.

I was very caught off-guard by this. He seemed like an excellent guy. Thanked me up/down for choosing TYM over all the rest. He even gave me his cell phone to contact him should the need arise. He said per protocol, I should try my dealer first, but reaching out to him directly is no problem.

From the sounds of it, if my dealer had more units in stock, they would have just given me a good one from the get-go and dealt with my dud from there. My T224 was the last one they had until the new model year units come in.

I checked with my "Platinum" TYM dealer that is about 100 miles away. They currently have 3 units in stock (over $3K more than what I paid). That dealer has also dealt with this T224 loader issue.

I've been reaching out to dealers of other make models for pricing in the event my TYM doesn't work out.

The pricing is nuts now IMO. What some of the dealers I've talked to tell me is any dealer stock received beyond July 1st will cost about 10% more than older inventory. There's probably some dealer gouging built in. I know I see it in my line of work when it comes to us needing expensive industrial equipment. "Tariff surcharge".

Here's some all-in, out the door pricing I got from about july 29th to today. These prices include my 8.75% sales tax. The RK21 is 6%

Bobcat CT1025 w/ FEL and 60"mmm $20212
LS MT125 w/FEL and 54"mmm $20681
Mahindra 1120 w/FEL and 54"mmm $19850
Kioti CS2220 w/FEL and 54"mmm $18705
Rural King RK21 w/FEL and 54"mmm ~$16200 Only issue is I'd have to arrange my own pickup/delivery.

The RK is also a TYM with RK badges.
Yessir. Just some cosmetic and lighting differences and the loader frames are different. Final assembly of them is in Ohio or some such.. Their parts network might be a lot better sorted as well, which is a great thing. My only issue is, should i need warranty work, I'm not sure how they work that. The manager I spoke with in charge of tractor sales was great though. I could call and ask him..

Things I don't like with the RK21 is per specs, the loader lift capacity is about 100lbs less than the TYM T224 and I don't think the RK21 has the skid steer quick release to swap out loader attachements.
