My guess is It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World had more stars in it than any movie in history.
When I first saw that movie I thought it was the funniest movie ever!!!😂😂😂

My favorite stand up comedian was Don Rickles, we saw him in Tahoe in the seventies my sides hurt from laughing so hard!!!!😂😂😂

I used to like watching him on Carson.

A Man Called Otto, a (2022 comedy/drama), is on FXM today.
It starts out rather slow but overall, I think it is a pretty good movie.

When I was a young Piston Head I used to really enjoy car chase movies.
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry
Vanishing Point
and a number of others.
A sort of more current (even though it's mid 70s) It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World is The Gumball Rally.
Never cared for the Cannonball movies. Not funny, verging on stupid. What really flushed them for me was Burt's buddy Dom Deluise.

First among the others would be…?
…Bullitt! ok, that’s my choice (even though that Charger he was chasing lost like 11 hubcaps during the ride…😝)

“World’s Fastest Indian” is a great movie with very broad appeal based on Burt Munro’s life. A riding buddy had the opportunity to actually visit that Indian during a group motorcycle tour in New Zealand…

Bullitt is my favorite also. It was all filmed at real speed. I was disappointed to learn the engine sounds were dubbed in.

Yes the hubcap count is off a little. There is a scene we Steve McQueen misses a corner and smokes the tires backing up and going forward. He wasn’t suppose to do that but they left it in. There is a green VW that gets passed more then once. The route they take wouldn’t be real world, in other words the sequence jumps around on somewhat random streets. The wanted to use the Golden Gate Bridge but the city nixed that idea.

The difference is that in Bullitt the chase scene is just that, a scene.
The others are almost exclusively chase, chase, chase...
In Bullitt it isn't just the Bug that gets seen several times. Don't forget the Cadi and if you look closely people watching the action from their apartment windows.
What aboot the Newspaper box that gets taken out. Just at it gets taken out the chase goes to the next shot.
Although filmed at real speed where it loses me is at the end when Frank spins out into the ditch. That just looks sped up.
Love the movie though.
Best and most realistic chases are in the French Connection movies. Makes Bullitt a bit amateurish.

But The French Connection doesn’t have Steve McQueen…

🤪 🤣
Love the scene under the subway! (Is it still a subway if’n it’s elevated?) sorry… rural living has some drawbacks… of course lack of subway access isn’t necessarily drawback…😎

In the movie The Seven Ups the car chase wasn’t bad if you turn the sound off. With the sound on the cars all apparently had 12 speed transmissions.

I grew up in the Bronx 50s & early 60s lived one block from Jerome Av. The train tracks were called the El.or the L for Elevated train!

Duh! One of my favorite movies, While You Were Sleeping, I’m a Sandra Bullock fan…

Anyway, in the movie she worked for the “L”… never made the. connection …

Maybe it was because of Miss Bullock…

Kinda like the kid in Terminator Two… apparently he had the only two-stroke, ring-ding-ding motor Honda ever produced with overhead valves…

🤔

Passed a guy on the street in Spain recently, wearing a new shirt that read, “Steve McQueen | The Original King of Cool”.

Dude still gets respect!

The Mustang from the movie Bullitt sold for a cool 3.74 million dollars.

Was there really only one? I enjoyed the movie, but never really dug into the filming of it. I assumed any production like this would have had at least three identical vehicles used in the filming, likely with one or more of them getting specific modifications as required for specific maneuvers or stunts.

Given the reliability of vehicles at the time, I can’t imagine any producer willing to risk shutting down filming for a whole day or more, just because their only car broke. :D

I think there was two of them. The last I knew the other Mustang had been found in Mexico in very bad shape. The one that sold for big money was sold as a used car and a women teacher drove it for several years.

Am I the only person that has no use, none, for Star Wars?
The only Star Trek movie I like is the one where they come back to get a couple whales.
