The current Derates are so dangerous & stupid. Truck suddenly derates to 5MPH while pulling a heavy load. What could go wrong?
I’d bet a faculty lounge genius that never drove anything more than a 10 speed bike on a college campus came up with that one.

If you can interface with their ecm’s, you most certainly have a shot to do so. But that’s the 64 million dollar question.
As long as the original algorithm has the room to support the changes with given componentry in the truck and there are no parameter lock outs.

Great opportunity for the manufacturers to screw us into buying new trucks

That will be great, if it indeed happens.
I can’t imagine the economic impact of having a decades worth of “red haired stepchild” trucks.
It would be worse than the International “MaxForce” engines.

Well spoken/written. Pretty much sums up what`s going on. A lot of empty headed people think our country is going to survive. It, will not. We`ve allowed this internal rot to overtake us. We`ve allowed government(s) to.... yep, nevermind. You know where this goes from here.

I do think our forefathers would be in shock if transported to todays state of affairs.

Accountability is often not possible and for those paying the bills it’s never enough…

When innovation works it is readily adopted… no mandate required.

I dunno. I've driven my Ram 3500 past the end of the dreaded 150-mile countdown twice, for well over 200 miles...and nothing happened or went wrong.

But about 15 years ago a Chevy pickup limited me to 55 mph, after I had shut it off in town.
