Calcium filled tires… Same pressure test?

Just checking my rear tires on the tractor today. They don’t look particularly low… But I’m only reading 1 pound on each of the tires. They are filled with calcium. So I’m questioning whether or not my gauge is working properly, though two gauges showed the same thing. Not too familiar with calcium tires… Do you add air pressure the same way you always would? I just don’t want to fill them to a catastrophic blowing point. They just don’t look that flat to me.

Not a clue as I quit using CACL long ago. CACL is corrosive and will kill any plants it contacts.

Agree don’t look under inflated in that picture. We ran similar pressure with fluid vs without. I would suspect 12 - 15 PSI for a tire that size depending on load it is carrying.

with stem at 12 o-clock try blowing a little air to see if possible core was sticking or plugged.

Napa or Milton Brands are the best quality & makes a springloaded air gauge specifically for fluid filled.

I wouldn’t dare use calcium chloride liquid as it Will ABSOLUTELY DESTROY steel wheels.

I’ve filled numerous tractors frt AND rear tires with 25% antifreeze & water.

This digital gauge doesn’t appear to be for fluid filled tires.

Not a clue as to why your gauge is reading 1 psi as that tire clearly has more then 1 psi in it.
Is it possible your gauge is reading in bar? ! bar is equal to about 14.5 psi.

As far as using calcium in a tire, yes it is corrosive but they will hold up for many years especially if you never have a leak I was never that lucky but the rims still lasted several years and then it was usually thevalve stem hole that rotted out first.

Many tons of Calcium Chloride is spread on roads for dust control and to melt ice. In tractor wheels it can provide years of trouble free service.

You could get lucky getting years of trouble free service BUT your steel wheels will be ate slam up with RUST.
I AVOID that stuff at all cost & I have 16 tires on the farm that is fluid filled.
