Anyone use Sch 80 PVC for air lines?

Need to plumb out my shop in the not too distant future. Was thinking about using Sch 80 PVC. I have heard of many people using it without issues.

Anyone out in TVN land using this in their shop?

We had pvc run originally in the shop at work. The issue we ran i to was the joints where it was glued would fail after a couple years.

After I fixed one leak, another would show up.

Pvc is affected by temps, and can violently explode under pressure. Mine is 3/4” copper piped

I have 3/4" PVC Sch 40 air lines in my shop and have had them for over 15 years with no issues. When I installed them I sanded the connections prior to gluing together.
My Compressor is set at 175 psi.

The working pressure of pvc is well above the compressor pressure. It works fine until it doesn’t. PVC can violently explode especially when it’s old and brittle. I’d use a different pipe.

Agree. PVC gets more and more brittle, especially with sunlight.
A metal pipe will bend if you hit it by mistake. Old PVC will shatter.
Unless you’re really cash strapped, go for the correct material

I have used Schl 40 3/4 and 1 inch PVC for air lines for years. The last shop had them up for 18 years before I took them down when we moved last year. The buyer didn't want them left, so I threw them away and put new lines in my new shop.
I made sure I used a good primer and a good glue when putting them together. I never had a coupling fail doing that.
