The cops were out in full force this morning. Captured a big bad 4 wheeler when I was south bound, headed for home.
Got my two 6" x 1.25" nipples AND the couplings. Only used one of them. Got the suction pipe within 4" of the bottom of the tank. Swapped over the whistle for the gauge and now the tank gauge reads full. Just the way I like it.
Now to do nothing for the rest of the day.

So sorry Buppies! ....no words I say can help!

The dusting to 1 inch of snow turned into 5 or 6 inches of heavy wet stuff!

Just got in from cleaning up the apartment and around here. Town is outside right now finally plowing our street.
The rest of the afternoon is going to be inspecting my eyelids for holes. Hands are better and reflux is about the same. Usually takes me a couple days to calm back down.
That's it for now. Horizontal on the couch beckons!

I am working on my 21st year of retirement. First 4 years I did contract work for company I retired from. Have not had the desire to return since. Plenty of things to do around my place. Makes it hard to find time for conserve energy.
Retired from Army in ‘93, was content to do parttime computer stuff thru a temp agency. Fun, interesting, rewarding, but basically someone else’s schedule. When I became a home inspector, major reason was time management as I was Sophie’s caregiver and rarely out more than 4 hours. When we moved here and built the house, I treated that as a real job, 8 hour work day with scheduled breaks and lunch, but no paycheck. That cured me. Now I’m unemployable.

I had a couple job fair type emails this week, one from Lockheed Martin. Not looking to go back.

Good breakfast, wife didn't go.
Wife and son went duckpin bowling this afternoon with a group from church, they just got back, had fun.

I was having fun on the deck. 3 more boards off, 3 on, except last one only has 2 clips as I ran out. Was hoping to get 5 done today, but forgot about the clips.. I did start some blocking across the middle. A couple joists leaning a bit, this straightened them up. had to remove nails back a few boards. Have the next 2 boards almost all unnailed, and the 2 after that have all nails out.
Not sure what to do with the old picnic table on the deck. we rarely use it. Boards getting bad again. I just replaced them a few years back.
Snagglepuss already tracked mud on the new decking, I gave her a stern talking to, and she just rubbed me back...

Smelled wood smoke while working, thought the neighbor was burning. after I came in house, i noticed smoke from my fire pit. I had thrown a couple short ends back in that had fallen out when burning yesterday, and there were still enough coals that they caught fire.

Buppies, hang in there.

Buppies, very sorry about Holly's predicament. My grandfather had dementia that went from bad to worse. His mind was going back to the 50's and 60's, wondering where his Buick was, who took it, why can't he go outside and find it, call the cops to report it stolen, he was always trying to leave. Had to get deadbolt locks where everyone had to have a key to get in, and to get out. It was rough on everyone. My brother, bless his heart, looked after him for some months while he waited to be qualified to enter a Texas rest home for veterans. They were all in bad mental shape, I learned not to take my wife in there as they would come up to her and start putting their hands on her. They were totally out of it. The facility had some tough workers (some women too) to handle them. Seeing all the tattoos on their fore arms from their branches of service was kind of sad and good at the same time. The workers called it "The Boys Club".

I would hope you can let your son take you to do something/anything. A break would be good. Many states offer in home help, because it is cheaper than a nursing home. (sometimes the states don't offer it).

Prayers my friend. Dementia is a horrible thing. I'm getting more forgetful by the day. Wonder if there is a proven low cost supplement to help?
