Good morning,
30° now, mix of sun and clouds early then cloudy, highs in low 40’s. Winds ESE at 5-10 mph.

Did manage to get groceries yesterday and spent some time outside emptying last year’s hanging baskets.

Not sure about today yet, just see what comes along.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning, the low is 14 and going up to 32°F. Wind ESE 13 mph. Snow mixed with ice pellets today and tonight. We are under a freezing rain warning.

I'm not doing anything today, in fact I will just hunker down and wait until tomorrow and maybe go out and bust up the ice with the tractor chains.

Have a safe day all

sounds like miserable weather Bill, don't slip out there

paid my taxes and need to put in mailbox on way out
moving that teak table top to garage where I'll put another coat of oil on it
that needs to wait until it warms up this afternoon, still pretty cold out

very cloudy week ahead, not much sun.

Morning all, 33 going to 53 and mostly sunny.

So yesterday we had 2 strange kids trying to hide (poorly) in our backyard.
We confronted them and they apologized.
Seems they have this thing for HS seniors called Senior assassin where they all try to get each other with water guns and the last group to get tagged gets a prize.
Pretty funny stuff, son is hiding out and has his water gun with him today.
I hope nothing goes wrong and they have fun.

Now that son has driven for a year with no accidents, I renegotiated insurance down about 30% and got a credit back. Still expensive, but a big chunk less.

Mostly - rear derailleur looks confused. Did it damage the wheel and is it fixed with a new bracket or is it going to need more parts?

Buppies - good to hear, I hope she keeps getting better.

Still waiting for final paperwork on Dad's taxes and mine too, think I need a new accountant, more local.

Be well,
Hopefully no more crazy teens wandering around the yard later.

Good morning TBN!!
51 this morning and won't add but about 10 more before the day is done. Gloomy with chance of stray showers all day.
Pressure washed the tank inside yesterday. I will do it one more time then it should be ready to drop, so I will have to let my contractor know. That is really the only thing I got accomplished. Had to deal with two small engines all day and up and off the tractor a bunch. It's catching up with me. I was pleased how my Troybilt PW and the cheap little HF water pump worked together. Pump pushing through about 60' of hose to the PW and had plenty of power while washing.

Not really sure what I will get in to today but can't wait to find out :)
Time for a second cup.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Morning all;
Going to be an interesting morning, going to do something that may not be the smartest.
I've had a set of Chevy Equinox wheels for sale they have been on Facebook and Craigs list for several months with minimal interest. Then Sunday had a resurge in interest along with a request for more pictures, so went and took more pictures and then posted them on the old ads. Had an individual that was texting and wanting them but wasn't supposedly in a position to come down and look at them. So as he is willing to pay the full asking price and I have the time I'm going to take them up to his address and assume I'll have a stress free interaction.
So something I'd certainly be telling anyone else not to do, and I am going to do.

And a general question, tire-wheel-rim what is the general consensus as to the proper terms.
I've always considered the steel/aluminum tire mounting device to be a rim, of course the rubber tire is the tire, and to me the mounted combination was a wheel, so a wheel consists of a tire mounted on a rim. But is seems like the term rim is very seldom used now and the "rim" is often called the "wheel".

It seems like spring is in the air for good here, roller coaster temperatures and lots of rainy sour days, and an occasional freezing night.

All stay safe and get well

good morning, 39 going to 58

Removed a bunch of tree shelters where the trees had outgrown them. Need to be on a pick up tour today to clean up the sliced shelters and broken stakes. Redbuds are showing faint signs of color. Should not be too long before the many Redbud trees will be in full bloom

Leaving for trip up in PA to a Mennonite saw mill to pick up more 5 ft oak stakes for repairing the downed ones by the recent storms. Wife is looking forward to the trip and this time of year there are flowers coming out in many locations.
Need to bring cash since they don't take anything else. The 20 lb manual ram works good for setting the stakes deep in the ground with just a few hits

Had a nice talk with one of the neighbors yesterday. He picked up a nice Polaris UTV with snowplow and winch. Had only 6 hours on it and owner had it sit for more than a year and never used it. 10 K sounded like a great deal

Having worked with tire and wheels for 40 years. We called it a “tire and wheel assembly”. Rim is where the weight was applied to a steel and some aluminum wheels for balancing.

WOW! That is some mess, mostly.

Trip up to North Bay was expen$ive for a guy in a Ford pickup. I was doing 120 (74.6 mph)in a 100 kph (62.5 mph) zone and he went by me like I was up on blocks. Had his tailgate down and nothing holding the stuff down in the box. I'll bet the cop had a field day with him. I could see three charges as he went by me. On top of speeding, insecure load and obstructed license plate.(Tailgate was down)
Picked up a tube of water detecting paste and a 1 3/8" doweling 6' long for dipping the big tank. The tank is empty (pump wont pickup oil) and there is 14" left in the tank. I may have to get a longer suction pipe for the pump.
Next dry day we get I will take the gauge out and put the whistle in for the fuel guy.
The house tank (200 gallon) is angled towards the suction line which is on the bottom of the tank, so I am not worried about water in that tank. I also keep it full and it is not in direct sunlight, being on the north side of the house.
Bill, I'm sure you're aware, but just in case most pumps nowadays come with an adjustable length pick up tube, with an angled end cut. Twist the tube and slide to length.
